Iran is pretty much like most Middle Eastern country, I think. Corrupt officials, abused civilians and sometimes occupied by terrorists. Also, there are foreign soldiers trying to aid the country to the best of their ability.
I perceive Iran as a country where society became less open/progressive due to the conservative religious authorities, but also a country whose economy has largely suffered from the embargo. I can only hope for the Iranian people that this will change soon. I think Ahmadinejad only contributed to distance Iran from other countries politically, but I have faith that the new president, Rouhani, will do what he can to change this (and I think he already did to some extent). As far as he can, of course, since his power is limited due to the complex political structure of Iran.
However I am afflicted by Iran's presumed support to certain radical groups in other countries, and think this will continue to spark conflicts in the Middle East.
For some reasons, the media has lead me to believe that Iran looks like a desert with US troops. Though I highly doubt I'm correct, or am I?
It is, like most of the middle east, fairly desolate and a political mess. It used to be a corrupt monarchist state until the revolution when it became a corrupt religious authoritarian state. If you have the time, read Persepolis. That should clear things up.

I've read it before, I enjoyed it. Though the school library keeps charging me $11 in fines even though I turned the book back in at the end of freshman year. The paper is for my government class, anyway, and I have my own perceptions of it, but I need other people's perceptions as a contrast/backup for mine.
Anyway.
QUESTION OF THE DAY!
What would you say the best day of your life is? And if you can't think of one, just talk about a good time that happened recently because that's fine too.
