Hi, I am level 3142, and I am going to be the first to get a grade 100 gem.
How did I get specs obscenely high? Well, thanks to this dude over here...
One important thing to note is how to create dual gems. Adding two grade one's them spamming U is losing about 33% special power.
Optimal creation is a G1 of both, combine, make a G2 of each, add one pure to each dual, combine the G3s, duplicate, and repeat with pure G4s, duplicate the 6, etc.
here is the difference at g34: Regular creation: http://prntscr.com/3dgs2c
Special Mix: http://prntscr.com/3dgs6k
Note that the hit count is the same, and the cost to duplicate is the same. This is a difference of 32.9%, and this difference keeps rising at higher levels. It's only a 16% difference at grade 6. It takes a decent amount of time, but it is worth it at ultimate grades (45+).
I now have huge specs. It takes me about 20-30 seconds real life time to get +1 grade. So a minute before +2(needed if want extra specs). I estimate my specs to be about 80% higher than normal, at least blood is.
PS- Level 46 amps got the spec treatment too, they are wicked.
Maybe you and I have been talking apples and oranges. When the game released, if you built up a Bloodbound gem with kills, then either combined it or upgraded it, the kill count reset to 0. I haven't tested that in months. If it has changed, it was patched.
Are you saying that the kill count is now being retained? I interpreted your response to mean that you think that I think GCL Bloodbounds are based on hits, not kills, like in GC2.
I don't even know what the hell anyone is talking about any more.
Back to the spirit of this thread: what is the highest level gem we've made?
I began a game where I intend to keep it going until my kids manage to mess it up somehow. I made a simple script that will cast freeze on the 9990 monsters that are all situated on my mana farm, so I can keep this going even while off dealing with the outerweb.
Only at 81 right now, and unfortunately hurt my gem by allowing the chain hit to fall off somewhere around level 72 - forced me to mix in a low level red, which significantly affected the mana gain. Protip: don't let that happen. I compared my level 80 from a previous game where I wasn't nearly as efficient with my gem combining, and it was still better than the 80 I had in this game where I was forced to mix in a low level red.
ive decided to make my current game a true endurance, i will go until the monsters kill me.
somewhere around wave 600 my kill gem (i assume 90+) will start to tip over, and ill have to start spamming freeze + wake of eternity until all 999 waves are stuck on the front 3 tiles while i spam freeze + wake of eternity
i believe i can beat endurance through wake of etenity + freeze spam alone with a grade 90+ gem
should get me several trillion xp as well
ill be mana farming until i can no longer anger waves to 1k monsters (550 or so) then purely building the kill gem after that
I suggest mana farming just the last 10 or so waves before endurance begins...more if your computer can handle it. The oncoming waves will slow you down too much, and there is no way you'll get your gem to 90 before wave 600
I got a Grade 14 this morning. Can't show a picture because I ended up continuing the endurance run (was on F1, lost to giants which essentially spammed beacons making everything unkillable, probably shouldn't have enraged the wave). It was originally a Chasing Shadows run as I usually do for SC farming, but it turned into a "how long can I survive" sorta thing.
Note to self: Never enrage waves whose monsters spawn beacons.
1. grade 90 will happen long before wave 600 at my pace, im currently pacing to hit it in the 200-300 range, so yes theres not only "a way", but its rather easy
2. i do intend to keep the last 10k or so monsters before endurance on the board for a very very very very long time, migth even get grade 90 before endurance begings
it has taken me like a full day to reach 85. I left the game on while at work with a script that would occasionally refresh the permafreeze. Sure it would be faster if I was around to upgrade the gem and amps as soon as I could, and maybe there are more powerful supergem methods out there, but even with all that I find it hard to imagine that 90 could be reached in 200 waves. What am I missing here?
and if someone makes a g88 by wave 999 that will also be a record for ealiest wave to create a gem, whcih is what ill be achieving
sean to give you a rough timeframe of the game im doing, it took me 15-20 waves, and around 1 hour of real time to go from grade 80 mana gem to a grade 82.25 mana gem
hundreds of more waves is plenty, aspecialy with the cheated time i get when regulation runs out that i can milk as long as i want
