Hi, I am level 3142, and I am going to be the first to get a grade 100 gem.

How did I get specs obscenely high? Well, thanks to this dude over here...

One important thing to note is how to create dual gems. Adding two grade one's them spamming U is losing about 33% special power.

Optimal creation is a G1 of both, combine, make a G2 of each, add one pure to each dual, combine the G3s, duplicate, and repeat with pure G4s, duplicate the 6, etc.

here is the difference at g34:
Regular creation:

Special Mix:
http://prntscr.com/3dgs6k

Note that the hit count is the same, and the cost to duplicate is the same. This is a difference of 32.9%, and this difference keeps rising at higher levels. It's only a 16% difference at grade 6. It takes a decent amount of time, but it is worth it at ultimate grades (45+).

I now have huge specs. It takes me about 20-30 seconds real life time to get +1 grade. So a minute before +2(needed if want extra specs). I estimate my specs to be about 80% higher than normal, at least blood is.

PS- Level 46 amps got the spec treatment too, they are wicked.

If I do DD, U, GG, red and blue get larger and larger. Help.

have you tried adding dual grade 2 blue/red gem to your black/orange one when it's g70 or so worth of mana?

DD, U, GG on orange/black gem, when it's g35 supergem just mix in dual blue/red.

BUT HOW TO GET TO Grade70 equivalent mana(2.8E22) without any chain or blue?

AND....if you make a NEW one at G70, then what about starting from 0 hits? I don't understand.

Yes, I mean starting from 0 hits and making new gem every one or two updates. I've done this way g70 just few minutes ago, everything lasted about 2h and 40 waves on my poor PC with 2k monsters permafrozen and nearly-realtime game. There is really very little difference (5% or something like that) between 7M hits (farm really, really fast) and 150M if you would have been updating the old one.

EDIT:
Of course I saved some gem 2 grades lower than my mana gem but w/o blue/red just for not to repeat the whole process every 10 mins.

Uh.....

You know I can get a grade 70 by wave 15, right? Lolz....

You get it at 40, not very good imho.

Well, well, well! I'm surprised, the supergem method IS better...tho not by much, and IDK if its worth the hassle TBH. Supergem is 1:2, 1:3 would skew combining costs.

Unspecced, Unsupergemmed Grade 50 OB Stats.

Damage: 2.5 - 22.6 Trillion Damage
Range: 260.5 Tiles
Speed: 1,922.5 Shots/Second
Mana Leech: 513,121,365.42 Per Hit
Bloodbound Mod: + *22.031 per Hit Level

Specced Gem Stats(Improvement % from Unspecced Gem)

Damage: 3.05 - 27.85 Trillion Damage(+22% to Minimum Damage, +23% to Maximum Damage)
Range: 261.7 Tiles(+0.4% to Range)
Speed: 1944.8 Shots/Second(+1.1% to Firing Speed)
Mana Leech: 728,632,869.16 Per Hit(+42% to Mana Leech)
Bloodbound Mod: + *26.587 per Hit Level(+21% to Bloodbound Modifier)

Supergem Stats(Improvement % from Regular Gem)[Improvement % from Specced Gem]
Grade 26 = Grade 50 Regular

Damage: 1.66 - 21.9 Trillion Damage(-33.6% to Minimum Damage, -3.1% to Maximum Damage)[-45.6%, -21.4%]
Range: 145 Tiles(-44.4% to Range)[-44.6%]
Speed: 60.11 Shots/Second(-96.8% to Speed)[-96.9%]
Mana Leech: 822,777,024.22 Per Hit(+60.3% to Mana Leech)[+12.9%]
Bloodbound Mod: + *27.633 per Hit Level(+25.4% per Bloodbound Modifier)[+3.9%]

With 0 hits.

Supergem isnt THAT big an improvement, and I think due to huge damage loss, for damage gems, specced gems are best for damage. Supergems best for mana.

Hmm, so like, start with a 1:3supergemmed dual OB grade 5, add a G2 dual RB to it, upgrade the amped non-quad one via supergemming, dupe, add G2 RB to that, etc? Huh...

Well I just tried with G25s(G9 equiv I believe for 1:3).

Methods-

U quad gem -> 24K leech.

Specced quad gem -> 61K leech

Supergemmed G9 + G1 R G1 B -> 40K leech.

Am I doing it wrong?

my method is nearly 3x better than a standard grade 81 by a 81 equiv gem. and by standard i mean using the combinging strategy weve all been using, not flat upgrading

i phase out the blue red and black into nothingness and make it more and more orange as the gem progresses without resetting the hits at all

also thunder, the wave you reach a certain grade at is irrelivent for this challenge. if you get a g80 on wave 2 but somone gets a g90 by wave 300 then for the sake of this challenge theyre farther along so thats all we have to consider here

update for me, im moved and home for the summer + fall now so when I feel like it i can start another attempt

the goal on attempt 2 is to make a g87 equiv mana gem thats improved upon cronos' gem, and from that gem attempt to make a 90 killgem

Can you explain your method (or it was explained somewhere and I've missed it)?

ConnerC, how?!!!

To supergem you dupe, yes? Well those dupes increase slow chain blood. I don't understand how to do this!

you can always create a B/O supergem and get that up to the grade of your other gems, and combine that instead of duping your original supergem
