Since I have grown quite fond of dabbling in the creative art department of Armor Games, I decided it was time to make a thread of my own in the AMW Forum! This collection will present everything I have made so far and all the creations to come in the future of course.

For my creations I mostly use the (ancient) program called 'Paint', as it is something I used for a long time now which has made me quite familiar with all the trades and tricks to use. I do know there are other programs out there, much better ones, but I sometimes prefer some 'raw' edges in my work and don't have the time or will to learn another program right now... there, that's the truth! LOL

My 'style' could be called 'funny clean cartoon-like art' I guess... I really love cartoons and always try to portray everything I create in a way that it makes the viewer smile upon seeing it. I've been using shading for quite a while now, but the clean line-type of shading still has my preference over freestyle, as the latter brings me out of my comfort zone of clean colored pieces... so I'm still working on that! Heh...

Right... so, if you wondered in here -out of curiousity or perhaps by mistake-, do feel free to criticise my work, throw suggestions about it my way, or even ask me to create something for you in 'my art style' if you want! No guarantees, but I do like a challenge from time to time! All depends on whether I can find the time and inspiration for it... ;P

On with the show! I hope you will enjoy my dabblings in art...

Let's add some more work I did for Armor Games back in the days... =)

I started experimenting with Paint quite a bit when getting an idea for the Thanksgiving Contest a few years ago (2012). I was thinking... why should the turkey smile?! It is going to get eaten, so... let's show it's true expression! =P

Angry Turkey!

The idea was to make an image of a turkey that attacked you and the last thing you would see was its face right before your eyes, juuuust before it attacked you full force! With a vengeance...

It started to become a habit of mine to create 'head images' from there on... =)

Been a while since I posted... well, let's continue with my dabbling adventure through Paint! =)

The next pieces I made how how I started experimenting with shading on drawings. I looked at a few things I made and thought they were a little 'flat' so to speak... as if there was something missing that made the image stand out.

Stary Night (1 of 3 in the set)

The 'Starry Night' one is the best example of how I started with an image that had no depth at all... but by adding a simple contrast of a darker version of the color used, it created a bit of depth. And so I worked from there...

SPLAT!

Someone asked me to make an entry about a snowball fight and this is the result! I used a more aggressive approach on shading, by using a blue shading in between the white and black colors of the inside and outlining of the image, which turned out nicely!

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8350/8270292948_7682d0c4fb_n_d.jpg
Christmas Gift!

I then thought of how sides of a box would show different shades of coloring on them when the light would be coming from one side... this would not only mean that the side of the box would shift in color, but also the ribbon wrapped around it. And to make the gift stand out even more as a 'surprise!', I added a flashing green edge around it to give it that extra shine!

The Grinch...

To end this series of my discovery of shading, I wanted to show the idea I had about how shading could not only be part of the image and enhance it, but also be used as the lining within the image itself, thus creating the image, rather than adding to the colors!

And of course 'The Grinch' is another example of my starting habit of drawing head images... =)

Wow... it's been almost 6 months since I last posted in here! Man, time flies! (oO)

It won't be continuing on a certain timeline of my evolving creations, but I wanted to post these in here, as I was very happy with the result! Of course, I had to wait untill the Armor Games Easter Egg Hunt 2015 was over, or else the eggs would have been revealed too early.

I already had a creation I made for the Armatar Contest: Easter Edition of 2014, when @Ferret was in need of some eggs to hide on the website for the 2015 Easter Egg Hunt.

"Brave New World"

When I saw this piece, I thought it could be easily modified to have letters in the egg's hole and paint it with a variety of colors and patterns. The result were these 13 eggs!

"Armor Games Easter Egg Hunt 2015 Set of Eggs"

I guess now that my timeline is broken, I'll simply continue to upload whatever I feel like talking about and showing in here from now on!

Two similar entries for two different contests! Both are actually slighty different of course, but I simply loved my original work so much I just had to enter them in both contests! LOL

The idea to create the game-like character of him was actually based on your username @R2D21999...
I wanted to portray an R2D2 in a game character style, which lead to this! Glad you like it!

@Ferret Thanx!

And here are three entries I did so far for the Art Competition: Username Interpretations, which is half of the current names for round #2.

When looking at a username, I simply like to go with whatever comes up first and work on that, rather than to make a deep train of thought and try to work through every aspect of the username or user in question... often, the first thought that comes to mind is your best, so thinking it through will only cloud your throughts and affect the end result.

...

First one up for round #2; Username : @Doombreed...

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8823/17314056100_d9ffb6fde5_o_d.png

The first thought I immediately had was the two parts of his username: 'doom' and 'breed'. I made several creations in the past that which were perfect for his username interpretation!
The egg is from the 2014 Easter Armatar Contest. I used the outlining and touched up the edges a bit (blurry, ugh...), then colored it to a clean and completely normal looking egg shell (white with blue-ish shade), to point out the unexpected content of it...
Then used the creeper face I made for the 2014 Hallowe'en Armatar Contest, which I've always been really fond of because of its simplicity (will post the originals later on in this thread!) and have it looking at you from the inside of the cracked egg shell to portray an evil breed entity who is lurking, waiting to hatch and spell doom upon the viewer! Et voila!

...

Next one up for round #2 is username : @Guest_Pegasus1234...

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8885/17547224036_5b84517fbc_b_d.jpg

I first thought of a 'guest' for dinner who visited you and since the username spells 'pegasus', a horse figure was quickly the idea. Because the username has '1234' in it, I then decided it was not 1 dinner guest, but 4... the different poses came to me during the making of it and so I had each of them displaying a different stage during dinner. The four colors were actuallty simple, as I look upon the Guest_Pegasus1234 as a colorful person, which made me choose four bright -yet unique- colors for the four horses. Noticed the underscore being on the image as well?! Top line of the dinner table...

...

And the last one in round #2 for this post is username : @Gogotank...

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5323/17627522300_b54864d1ef_b_d.jpg

The idea was the first one I had for the initial round #1 of the contest, but never acted upon... when his username was enclosed in the second round, I decided to make it anyway and base it of what first comes to mind upon seeing his username for the first time ever!
I wanted to make a 'tank', which is half of the username already, but needed to embed the 'Gogo' part in there as well. As I was drawing the wheels and tracks for the tank, I noticed the 3 round shapes I had at first and how I could embed the word 'GOGO' into them, so I added one more wheel and had the motion of the image captured in a word. The rest of the tank is pretty straightforward and fitting to the tank itself, but I also wanted to have something of the user himself in there... so I decided to use a penguin image I made for the 2014 Winter Armatar Contest and paste it as a star sign on the tank's side, much like a real tank would have the nation's sign on it. Et voila! Le 'Gogotank' izzz finished!

...

Right now I'm thinking about making a thread (or maybe posting in here) to show how exactly I created the tank from the ground up, as I still have all the consequetive images of the entire process... hmmm... have to think about it, but it would a great way to show how I think and work and maybe have someone learn or have ideas from it. We'll see...

Thart's all for now folks... I'm off to my drawing board again!

Didn't think I would make it, but... I managed to get the rest of the usernames finished before the deadline! Thus keeping my promise to @Koshionos at the beginning of the round; to make an entry for every username that was up for round #2!

Here we go!

The 4th entry I created; Username : @Freakenstein

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8888/18262951808_f7bda46b29_b_d.jpg

"Jawohl, zee Freakynezz ovh zee Shtein ist very cute! "

Since I've always looked at my fellow Moderator Freakenstein's name with a German thought to it, it always presented a 'Freaky' image of a 'Stein', which is the actual German translation for Rock... That's why I wanted to portray a Rock with a Freaky expression on it! The bolts on either side of it give a hint to the 'Frankenstein' character (from which I believe his username is in fact a derivative - is it Frank?), but also fit the 'freaky' theme of the username perfectly!

...

The 5th entry; Username : @EvilSweetBlock

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/541/18427383696_d8591614d9_b_d.jpg

After finishing the 4th entry, I suddenly had a new idea about this username, different from the initial idea I had, and I decided to start working on it straight away!

I thought of the word block as meaning a 'square block' and at the same time blocking something/someone in terms of a wall. With this in mind, I wanted to portray this as a Block wall made up entirely of Evil blocks and Sweet blocks together! The images used for the evil part are from Armatars I created for the 2014 Hallowe'en Armatar Contest, which were easily diverted into the dark blocks. The sweet parts are made of the 3 first thoughts I had with this, being: a sweet kiss, a sweet-heart and a sweet candy cane! The last of the three is actually an Armatar as well; one I made for the 2013 Winter Armatar Contest, but slightly altered.

And a fun fact I noticed upon uploading the image... if look at the image and squeeze your eyes a bit, it looks as if the lines are tilting!! Is it your brain playing with you, your eyes deceiving you, or is it simply magic... LOL

...

And once I was finished with the 5th entry rather quickly, I was on a roll and decided to finish the 6th entry as well to complete the set and keep my promise to Koshionos as mentioned earlier!

The 6th -and last- entry for round #2; Username : @Pandaitis

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8886/18456229135_23c80db546_b_d.jpg

This one took a little longer to finish than I had initially thought to be honest, but it came together rather nicely and quickly as it turned out in the end!

This username gave me a clear idea from the start as well, a sick panda, but I wasn't quite sure how to portray it compared to what I had envisioned in my mind... when I started it, I created the head with the intention to keep it at that and simply paste it on a background. But as I was nearing the end result, I thought of having him lay in a bed, all tucked in! The entire image is made up with lines and color fills, but for the blush underneath his eyes, I decided to use the spray can option in Paint, as it has a better look to it. That's why it is a little off in the image...

Hope you like them all! And if you have any feedback, comments or ideas about these, please do let me know!
