Fixed for me.

I like free roam with a main storyline attached.

I find free roam more fun to play, but fixed path games are definitely easier to make and follow. Depends on how much time you have to build a world/storyline.

I like free roam more than a fixed path, but there should be hints of fixed path so people follow the main story.

I am going to vote here too, fixed and free, don't limit people down but try to keep people on a set track using clever wordsmithing.

What about combat systems?

should there be skills that do a fixed amount of damage, Skills that don't do a fixed amount of damage or no skills?

I personally don't care very much but i like to be able to do things that would give a bonus amount of damage like a point blank shot over one from 20 feet away. I also like doing things like making new weapons like: http://armorgames.com/community/thread/12373633/highway-to-hell-rpg/page/7 post 7 and 10.

so you don't like choosing from a a list of skill you like making your own?

No skills.

I can do skills but i prefer not too.
