I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Including quests that require you to do X amount of something without providing some sort of internal tracker are extremely annoying.
So the last quest is really, really, REALLY stupid. You fight a boss that instakills a ship regardless of HP (even a fully upgraded Chinese ship with 1250 HP AND the boss being affected by the 50% damage reduction from the Commando ship dies in 1 shot). So you have 3 rounds to win.
So no strategy, no real thinking, just mindless grinding until you get the Perks and enough gold to take the 3x damage every shot and can do enough damage in 3 rounds. Really dumb.
Perks don't really do more damage - the cost in AP unfortunately offsets the effectiveness. I'd shoot for 3x viking max upgrade ship and win using standard shot spam+3x damage. You'll make it with about 200 hp on boss to spare(doesn't really matter what commando you use).
Note: It costs 0 for Poseidon to attack; a legendary boarding perk(aka take 10%) will result in insta-death if you use it. There's no point in ice, poison is iffy, and I don't think you can panic him. Realistically, the only option is viking spam standard shot(on 3x). Good news is, by that time, you influence prices enough with your ships that you can mint gold relatively easily through trade.
I've already finished this game three months ago and I grinded a lot, so I managed to do five quests in an hour, but I have two questions:
1) Is there any quick way to get a left shoe after the end of the game? I know for sure I already found it at least once, but I don't remember how I found it. Was it a quest reward or random loot?
2) Is it possible to earn Secret and Victory after the end of the game? I've finished it already and I don't want to play it whole again, especially since I'm grinded... ehm, armed to the teeth.
@Ferret - an edit is needed in the game's Overview tab. It says this;
UPDATE v1.15
We have prepared an update for you. In the end of the story a battle with a very special monster awaits for you! However, to fight with the Witnesses of Poseidon’s Wrath you should complete the main game story!
The quest will be available for premium players only!UPDATE v1.18
Update again! This time you are to find out what secret weapon the Vikings built again and how they happened to lose it! You will have to think of some ways to beat astute inventions!
The quest will be available for premium players only!
@Randomblah - you aren't paying attention to the math then. Poison, for instance, when at the appropriate level, SIGNIFICANTLY increases your damage. Level 6 rare is ideal, because it costs 14 AP for a 100% increase in damage. A 40% increase in AP cost for a 100% increase in damage is a massive increase in general.
In addition, significant increases in damage are realized by looking at how much AP you have left and using abilities appropriately.
So a fully upgraded ship (38 AP), instead of firing 3 regular attacks at 300 total damage, now fires 1 regular attack and 2 Poison attacks, for a total of 500% damage.
Or, as you take damage, if you get put down to 29 AP, you get only 2 regular attacks at 200 damage, OR 2 poison attacks at 400% damage - literally double damage from the same AP pool.
@Ferret - they are earnable, you misunderstood me. My fault, I'll say it more clearly. :/

Update v1.18 description is correct, because 1.18 storyline is premium-only. It has no AG quest.
Briefly said, the bolded line is not true.
EDIT: and please, do you have any ideas about my 2nd question?
2) Is it possible to earn Secret and Victory after the end of the game? I've finished it already and I don't want to play it whole again, especially since I'm grinded... ehm, armed to the teeth.
@Olinser Hm I never really upgraded the poison perk, but it does make poseidon seem significantly easier, assuming that the poison is multiplied by 3x. I think poison is the exception rather than the rule though; explosive doesn't really do much more when you upgrade it, while the AP shoots up(as an example). It's also much easier time-wise to spam normal shots in regular combat.
Poison damage doesn't seem to stack. It gives more damage if you shoot with poison and wait between shots.
How long does it take to get a legendary perk? I've beat the game and have been grinding away on high level pirate ships.
I got a legendary perk as my first one on my first playthrough. I think I had 3-4 when I reset; after beating the game again, I have 2. Maybe just bad luck?
Okay, finished this fairly quickly. The final Poseidon battle isn't too bad; I was wondering if I needed the "secret" Viking weapon for this final battle (nope), and was thinking I needed all the upgrades before taking him on (nope).
My setup: European Corvettes, 100% Damage & AP, 90% Accuracy, 70% Hull. Used x3 shots (poison twice, regular once) for each ship; took him down without any trouble.
Question: The "final" quest afterwards ... When the Viking lady asks you to find the secret weapon of the Vikings (again?) and it says "You have no PREMIUM now," I'm guessing that's bad English for "This is a premium content quest," right?
Comment: Thanks, AG, for finally posting a set of quests that are doable in a sane amount of time. The last few (Clicker Heroes, King of Towers, The Weapon Masters, etc.) have needed extensive time investment to complete the final badges ... not hard, really, just long.
Well, I had to reset after all, but after a few hours I've got the quests. Obviously all are working well.
Day 1280. Still no sign of Legendary perk. I'm starting to believe that they don't exist.
Anyone know if drops rate is better from higher level ships or something? Maybe I should just start a new game.
