Edit: I just saw that nichodemus owed $400 to those who voted for him in the previous battle, which means he would only have $1,000 haul worth and could only give $950 to 1 user on a loss.

This is true but he said everything he'll get, that is assuming everything he gets if he wins also.

well, I suppose anyone means basically the big players. Only they need to bribe us for support

They'll eventually run out of haul the way they are planning to bribe though. So that's where the followers come in.
