Brian Moore for President
Stewart Alexander for Vice President
Socialist Campaign of 2012.
Vote Socialist 2012.
(Or Whom Ever Runs For Socialist Preisdent In 2012.)

I have your back on that one, Colonel.

I am sick and tired of seeing these questions being brought up in such a vague manner. "Yo man, ya gonna vote Democrat or republican?" Blah! Socialist you fool. People these days are very dogmatic and the media only covers two parties that represent the same political ideology. It's a monopoly if you will. In America, we can choose between countless brands of chips, sodas, candy bars, bears but why is that we can only choose between two different presidents? Our democratic system has basically become a two-party state; like having a labour party and a communist party in North Korea.

It makes me sick how big corporations that lobby their way to the top have such a huge influence on the government. They tell you that there is no point in voting third party, that you should just vote for the lesser of two evils if you donât like the republicans or democrats since one of them is clearly going to be victorious, they also try telling you that third parties don't make a difference. Well I say these corporations are full of rubbish! People like Eugene Debs, Norman Thomas, Abraham Lincoln, Robert Lafollette and many others all came from third parties. Although all of them beside Abraham Lincoln didn't win final election, they all had some impact on American history. Debs was the first and only third party candidate in the 20th century to draw more than 6% of the vote as a socialist. This third party candidate also founded America's first workers' union and paved the way for many more workers' unions to come about in the future.

So instead of plainly saying âDemocrat or Republican?â we should ask a broader question such as âWhich party are you supporting?â That implies that you take note of the fact that third parties exist, there are hundreds of thousands-even millions of Americans who support some sort of third party and you would also acknowledge the fact that the democrats and republicans aren't the only choices in the ballot box!

@votesocialst

I agree with you, however what would be the point? The media won't cover them in a million years. It will always be the same, a few thousand people through fundraisers and the internet... that's not exactly enough to win. The only way to really win is if the third party candidates lobby just like they're corrupt two party brothers. sure you could campaign and go door to door, but people will just feel like if they vote for that third party candidate they will be throwing their vote away.

I suppose you have to start somewhere however. I just don't see a 3rd party winning in America... ever.

That's not what Eugene Debs said when he ran several times as a third party candidate. He was by far the most well known American socialist of the 20th century. The point is that I would rather vote for what I want and not get it than vote for something I didn't want and get it.

We voted for Bush TWICE! I think we had enough Republicans.

I think there's a reason Socialist isn't a major party in America.

Exactly. Who knows, maybe some of these third party candidates could actually get noticed if people would stop assuming that they can't win.

Or if we completely overhauled the American political party system. In fact abolish the two major parties then we'd have some fun. Maybe someone good would get elected for a change...

I agree but McCain was an old idiot who wouldn't have done any better yet with our current political system those were the only two people who could have become president. By the way socialism is bad but I think we should be a bit more worried about other things..

I agree with you about McCain being an idiot but he would have republican influence. Obama not even president, the whole dem party is. How so about socialism, becuase all I see him do to turn the econmy around, is waste tax payers money on a hour long speeches about what he wants to do but not even show you how he plans to do it or solve it, he just wants you to agree with him and if you do disagree with guess what you get lashed out at just like a socialist. Also he is trying to get the goverments hands into everything, just like a socialist.

All presidents make hour long speeches...
And they don't cost a lot of money...

what he wants to do but not even show you how he plans to do it or solve it

Well, he told you he wanted nationalized health care. Then he made a bill, which tells you how he's going to nationalize health care. Sure sounds like he told you how ge was going to do it.

he just wants you to agree with him and if you do disagree with guess what you get lashed out at just like a socialist.

Well, he is the president. That means more than 50% of people made an educated decision that he was better than the other guy. So you should agree with him, or at least, more than 50% of you should.

And I didn't know socialists were stubborn people who attack all those who disagree with them. I was under the impression those were those guys that get angry at communists for having a different way of running their country and paint them as evil.
