This is a completely serious club, people who make a decent enough plan will be able to comment and review other plans. Here is some zombie info.
run/walk: they walk
scream/groan: they groan
day/night: All da time babey!
what they attack: EVERYTHING THEY HEAR, OR THAT MOVES!
survivors: very very little, like near 100-1000 people on EARTH
guns: This is real time, being your neighboorhood and everything, you have all the resources you have in your house.
cure: there is none.
where to go: so long as you have a plan to get their, go for it.
how much you can carry: AGAIN, THIS IS REAL TIME
family members: theres a high chance they are zombehs too. able to join: if you didn't read, just make a good plan.
durability: they can take ALOT of damage, worse than playing last stand 2 with just a pistol for the entire game when the zombies have twice as much life.
doors: they can't work a doorhandle for the mostpart of their brain is already rotted I am still making my plan right now, but I think some of you can do it. Let the zombie surviving begin!
Strongbow, I actually can't imagine doing anything other than stealth. I'd only expose myself when there isn't a safer alternative. Another alternative in a Walmart, is to scope it out. I's go around back, and if I could, post someone there. That way the exit is probably safe. Then I'd go around front, go inside and keep a low profile. I'd probably stay close enough to the people to always know where they were. After they left I'd gather the supplies I could get, then exit through the back and meet back up with my friend. I don't know what I'd do if I got caught though. My negotiation skills aren't that good, and I'm no James Bond.
Well, Savorath, it seems to have gone on long enough without getting locked or moved, so I'd have to say that your comment seems unimportant and looks a little like spam.
Personally, I'd leave the survivors to die. I'm immoral when it comes to surviving. The gunshots would probably attract more zombies, and lead me into a mess I couldn't get out of.
First reaction: Gather proper clothing, non-perishable foods, possible weaponry that are around, and 4-5 level headed people.
Clothing: BDU's/ADU's; Carhartt; other thick canvas clothing. They're light, but still allow that extra split second before teeth enter flesh. Any more protection from clothing isn't worth the weight.
Weaponry: Low power, high clip, semi-auto guns; blunt objects. Blades would be the worst idea in a zombie plague, because they just generally are a slow method for killing something that you have to destroy the brain of. Everyone always talks about them in their tactic, and I can't help but think they'll be dead early.
Group: You need atleast five people to allow for watch shifts and proper sleep. On the other hand though, if you're group gets too big any found rations are split that much further, and you increase the strength of your scent, allow for much less time for outside of shelter operations. Also, within these people, you should have someone proficient in gardening, someone proficient in first-aid, and someone that's got military experience.
Your Ideal Shelter: You want somewhere big, and on a second or third level with the ability to destroy all routes up without weakening the structure of the building. The size is necessary, because people always forget one major factor of a zombie plague, this being "We're going to run out of non-perishables eventually, should we start growing our own food?". This also means you need somewhere wear you can either set up a greenhouse effect, or majority good weather throughout the year. For no more than 2 months a year should you be living off your non-perishables.
Your Shelter's Surroundings: 3-5 miles. This is my ideal range to have all possible necessities at. Less than 3 and the zombies that come to swarm your shelter will have easy access to disrupting supply runs. More than 5 and you leave your shelter for too long, allowing more possibilities of complications.
Final Word: Any zombie plague would last between 10-20 years, and probably lower the world population by about 70-80%. The world afterwards would contain thousands of new diseases, hundreds of once extinct ones, and probably would take another 10-20 years to prepare for full comfortable living again.
This plan is quite nearly textbook. As you can see, Endi is taking into account several different factors, all with equal importance.
Food, clothing and shelter. The basic essentials of survival. Most would agree that this plan incorporates not only what should be done initially, but also a plan for extended survival. Very well laid out.
The things I would be interested in at this point would be what you (Endi) would use specifically, based on your realistic circumstances. Is there an adequate place you know of for shelter? Do you actually KNOW 4 level headed people that are able to react compentably under extreme stress, (I dont). Weapons, such as blunt items, low power handguns, do you own any? Any of your group own any?
Not to seem picky, I think your plan needs your own personal touch. Its a fantastic overview, but lets see ENDI in action.
Well done! Lets see some more plans as well as some scenario responses.
Here's another scenario. It actually has nothing to do with surviving though. It's the last day of your life. The rest of the surviviors with you are dead or turned. Your in your shelter and the undead have completely surrounded you. You have a week worth of food, a melee weapon, and a gun of your choice, but with one magazine left. The zombies can't get in, but you can't get out. There is NO way to come out of this situation alive. You have the choice that little or no people have the luxury of having. How will you die? Do go in a blaze of glory? Charging the ranks of the undead? Or do you wait for darkness to close slowly in from privation? Or do you tale your own life?
(By the way, I'm not implieng that this is my last scenario, but it was the only one I could think of for now)
@quakingphear: Not very cheery, but certainly not impossible.
I would probably spend my ammunition as I could and continue to survive till the last possible moment. IF, and I do mean IF, I could no longer stand the constant moaning of the undead and the scratch of ragged fingernails on my barricade, I would probably take my own life.
quakingphear, first I would wright down my journey so that if the zombies are ever finished someone could find it. Then I would fight to the death and try to make it past there numbers. For even if I don't make it, someone else will have less zombies to worry about.
same here a fully loaded mini gun could mow them down and when out of ammo my dai kitanna will slice them till i die or im safe and if i was dieing i would scream for narnia just for laughs
Thats all fine and good, but if I were still alive when you decided to Hail Mary into a swarm, I would have to worry about 1 more zombie after you reanimated.
That is the hardest part about not only survival, but reversing an infestation of that magnitude. -We kill a zombie, they lose a zombie -We get bitten, humans lose another human and they gain a zombie The odds are stacked wholly AGAINST humanity. Im not certain that I would want to become an undead because I would only be adding to the infestation, along with anyone I killed after I reanimated.
Keep that in mind, before you turn on Bon Jovi and swan dive into a horde.
And if I did die you would know it was me cause I WOULD STILL LOOK HOT LOL. woooops sorry I hit the caps lock. And any way this post has an actuall point.
lets say your walking to the store when you see a lone survivor walking down the street. When about 8 zombies attack him, he pulls out a crow bar and starts hacking. do you leave him, help from a distance by use of guns sacrificing much needed ammo, or run in with your crow bar and join the party?
