Yeah, but Strongbow even if we took out 2 then that's one less for you.
Extremely noble sentiment, Timegoesby, and I appreciate the help.
However, your reanimation is simply another zombie to deal with. One more variable that makes MY survival a bit more difficult. I understand the whole suicide thing..I can certainly understand how difficult it would be to make that decision, (and keep in mind, MY decision did not come lightly), but you must think of the greater good if you had no options left.
Zombies can stay animated as long as the body has not decayed completely. The virus ensures that the host does not decay at normal levels. Therefore, a zombie can potentially "live" for 2-3 years. Even if it cant walk, it can still BITE.
As for the rescue scenario, my reaction would depend a lot on my own survival. As much as I would hate seeing anyone be devoured, Im certain that I would have seen it many times before. So, I would have to make sure that a few things were thought over:
-How close am I to the victim?
-It takes ONE bite from ONE zombie to doom the victim, and he/she is up against 8. If Im not quick enough, I may have to deal with 9.
-Hand to hand combat would be short and sweet. If I were to react, I would have to be CLOSE enough to make a difference.
-How could I assist?
-Shooting in the direction of the meelee is NOT advised.
-Joining the fray would be alright as long as the odds are in my favor. 8 to 2 is sketchy at best.
-What would be the outcome?
-Helping someone is always good, but how will it help my survival as opposed to the danger involved? Remember your survival is absolutely KEY. Rambos are that much more likely to join the undead as slay the undead.
Groups are convienient for long term survival. Having another to pull guard or come up with plans takes a lot of stress off of the individual. However, YOU are no good to yourself dead or turned.
Survive...dont ever forget that!
