This is a completely serious club, people who make a decent enough plan will be able to comment and review other plans. Here is some zombie info.

run/walk: they walk

scream/groan: they groan

day/night: All da time babey!

what they attack: EVERYTHING THEY HEAR, OR THAT MOVES!

survivors: very very little, like near 100-1000 people on EARTH

guns: This is real time, being your neighboorhood and everything, you have all the resources you have in your house.

cure: there is none.

where to go: so long as you have a plan to get their, go for it.

how much you can carry: AGAIN, THIS IS REAL TIME

family members: theres a high chance they are zombehs too.
able to join: if you didn't read, just make a good plan.

durability: they can take ALOT of damage, worse than playing last stand 2 with just a pistol for the entire game when the zombies have twice as much life.

doors: they can't work a doorhandle for the mostpart of their brain is already rotted
I am still making my plan right now, but I think some of you can do it. Let the zombie surviving begin!

Why does the reanimated dead not decay away, thoad?

good question, what the parasite does, is it (this is in response to Cenere's questions, hitting 2 birds with 1 stone :P) starts off smaller than a dustmite, then it grows to the size of a heart, it climbs up to the brain, and then hits the life support. About 10 seconds later, it hooks itself up into the brain, setting it back up. With another small, sharp tentacle, it crawls to the lungs and hooks itself up there, for oxygen. The way the bodies don't decay is because the parasite infects each cell (with something of a shell on each) to repel anything that would eat the dead tissue. They aren't so much driven by hunger as they are driven by sheer violence. The Parasite does not need food, for it eats the organs of the zombie, then it moves to the fat, and then the muscles. Eventually, the zombies will die out but I bet they'd take the human race with them.

Yeah.

So they are actual intelligent beings, able to see and hear as well as anyone else, and able to think through - scenarios as well, in the search for new victims to spread to?
Unlike an epidemic/virus, it is more like a hunter.

I wonder: How much do a zombie register, when it walks about?
When bitten, how long do they keep their mind? Is it untill the virus gets to the brain and begins the corruption? Untill then the victim would be able to think and react, having perfectly control over their body, right? Then the virus slowly corrupts the mind/the brains starts decaying, and they lose their mind?
After that, the decay either slows down, or keeps raging, which would mean that they slowly loose their senses, would it not? The brain is soft tissue, and would decay rather fast; if the virus spread in a few minutes, and the victim looses their mind in half an hour, they would stay a zombie for - one-three days, before the brain is so damaged that there is nothing left to send the ever so important impulses, and the zombie would fall and decay to nothing?
Even faster if the nerves is cut.
Under this time, the victim slowly become more driven by hunger and generel needs, but as the decay ruins the brain, it will loose vision, sense of smell, sense of hearing, sense of touch, in a random order, untill the brain dies.
This way, it is reletively easy to live through an outbreak, as long as you stay out of the infection zones. If the virus does not spread, the outbreak is through in a week or two.
Of course I have seen theories of a parasite replacing the brain, but that would mean rather intelligent zombies, able to sense danger. Even if the intelligence is as good as that of a predator, it would still be difficult to escape those zombies, or set traps for them, unless they are driven by deadly hunger. That way, you would need to keep safe untill the easiest victims have been eaten, which would take weeks, before you can lure them into traps.
So, how does the mechanism of the virus work? Is it like a regular virus that makes the body decay, and gives a unnatural hunger (that way spreading the disease), or something intelligent?

*cracks fingers*

Allright, lets do this.

First, zombies only register Noise, and smell. It is likely there eyes would eventually become unusable, but there hearing would be good enoug hto hear your heart beat from about 5 feet away.

I would hink it would take a few hours tops. In this time, they would have control over there body, but would be in alot of pain, and if they could would be best advised to kill them selfs. They would be pretty badly mauled after getting attacked by a horde, or even just a few.

third. Decay in the zombie is practically stopped by the virus. It has a special checmical that slows down the decay keeping it in working order..

And nope, nothing intelligent bout them. Thoads base virus, was practically a walking eating machine. It had no memory, and could hardly open door nobs. *snicker* Though soe of the newer less used viruses did envolve some smarter zombies...

Now for mud....

Well, I would definatly choose the farmer, a bit of a no brainer, along wiht...the doctor and the green beret. A complete dream team if you ask me.

For startes, you get the farmer to grow food (a given) And the doctor to heal sstuff. But he could also be working on a cure. As for the green beret, they could be young or old, and it wouldn't matter. They would be able to use most any fire arm you could find. It would make it much easier to keep fire arms in working order with him around.

I would then head for the prison for a few reasons.

It would have about 300 zombies max, and most would be in jail cells, made of steel. If the zombies couldnt reach the prisoners o nthe other side, the prisoners would have dies, and the zombies would have left. If you clear one wing of bodys, or zombies, you have a great defense. Most prisons have very thick steel doors with incredible large locks. You would also have cells which would make an exalent choke point.

(Ah, mud allmost forgot to mention how much I liked the hybrid hearse. lol)

*Looks up*

I need to get away from the computer after a post like this.

first of all, the virus is called the solanum virus. There is no cure.

Once bitten, this is your timeline

Hour 1: numbness of your extremities and bitten area. Immideit coagulation of blood.

Hour 4: Nausea. Numbing of more places. Headache.

Hour 10: Severe numbing all over. Migrane. Severe pain.

Hour 18: severe migrane. Nausea. Shaking. Chills. severe numbing all ovr.

Hour 20: unconshesness

Hour 22: DEath. heart stops pumping. organ failure. 0 brainwaves.

Hour 23: Reanimation

If you were bitten you would have a very slow and painful death.

Yeah, pretty much all of us have read the Guide. The virus we use was created by thoad, our founder. It has a lot of similarities though.

Is there a chance that you could create armour to prevent the bite getting through. Maybe because in my town there is a museum with lots of old armours and things like that, maybe if you where aloud to use armour as protection against the bites these could help.
Also are there any hand held weapons that work better against the zombies as in England we don't have guns so I would need a reference of a weapon?

I asked that very same question Ledmonds, but received no answer. Seems to me it would be a mixed blessing. Any armor that provided enough coverage would most likely slow you down to the point the zombie would easily catch you. Once caught, they would eventually manage to tear off some part of the armor, and you would be done.

I think that everyone should keep at least 50 shells to a certain firearm at their household, in case such a catastrophe is to run wild

Chain mail, if you can find it would be your best bet.

Allthough a more likely thing would be to have hockey pads, as they would provide at least a small bit of protection without slowing you down.

And a crowbar would be your best bet. You get a skull crushing item, and it can be used to remove nails, and boards from windows, and other places.

I agree, a crowbar would be a good weapon to have, that and an axe, so one could split their heads open, a tad gory, but all is to be expected.
