This is a completely serious club, people who make a decent enough plan will be able to comment and review other plans. Here is some zombie info.
run/walk: they walk
scream/groan: they groan
day/night: All da time babey!
what they attack: EVERYTHING THEY HEAR, OR THAT MOVES!
survivors: very very little, like near 100-1000 people on EARTH
guns: This is real time, being your neighboorhood and everything, you have all the resources you have in your house.
cure: there is none.
where to go: so long as you have a plan to get their, go for it.
how much you can carry: AGAIN, THIS IS REAL TIME
family members: theres a high chance they are zombehs too. able to join: if you didn't read, just make a good plan.
durability: they can take ALOT of damage, worse than playing last stand 2 with just a pistol for the entire game when the zombies have twice as much life.
doors: they can't work a doorhandle for the mostpart of their brain is already rotted I am still making my plan right now, but I think some of you can do it. Let the zombie surviving begin!
Scenarioplz Hmm, one of the stupid ones, I think. Outbreak in prgress, still a good deal of survivors outside the cities, Hungers roam the cities because there is still food.
In a try to escape a horde of older Hungers, you end up in a factory area near a habour. The closest factories are making dog and cat food, or, did. Now, it seems that the Hungers have lost your track, but on the other hand, your zombie radar is giving a red alert. Having survived the agile hunters has given you a good bunch of knowledge, and this seems like one of the places smaller groups of Hungers could use as their territory. Mainly because of the smell of food still hanging around. Now, you are in this area, normal habour factories around (steel crafts, dog food factory..), and there is a good chance groups of zombies are around. You better get moving before the horde finds you, and find a way to get them off your scent.
-Blah-
Stress hit me halfway through, so that just sucks, but well... Now I will go punch myself.
Well, knowing that your zombies are driven by pretty much only hunger, I'd take a large bin of dog food (I've seen one of the factories, they bin 'em before they can 'em) and spill it all over the floor. Then I'd cheese it for the water. After washing off my scent should be cleared (and I'd probably just smell like barnacles and saltwater) and I could furtherly run away from the city. Simple as that.
Hmmm... on a harbor, eh? Well, dog-food is still food, I would certainly grab as much as I could carry safely.
I would search the edge of the harbor for a small enough craft for me to control myself. I have zero knowledge of sails, so I would need something with a motor, and hope it has enough fuel to get me out of the city, as this seems to be a more dangerous place.
If there is a river, I would head up stream, so I would have access to some (hopefully) potable water.
If I had the time, I would look for a good hand weapon, something long, with a heavy tip, maybe something found in one of these steel craft factories, but escape would be my highest priority.
If I felt safe enough though, I might craft myself some weapons first.
You know mudpuddle, there is just a little too many If's in your plan for me to feel comfortable with it. You didn't get rid of your scent in any way possible. Wouldn't they track you up the river?
zHrm, if this was a factory here, in pittsburgh, I would have realtive ease with this. I would first get to one of the many docks in pittsburgh, and dive into the river. It would basically leave me smelling like the river, and wash away my unique smell. From there, i owuld mount one of the many boats, either a motor boat, or one with oars...actually a seedo if I can find one. from there, I would head north. this would take me to lake erie, and past alot of other docks. The Manongahala would do nicely I think. There are alot of things along the banks....stores, factories, random abandened buildings......I would have no problem finding another boat if I ran out of gas, or just some place to sleep.
From lake erie, I would head west...Mountains. There are alot of towns out there were I could easily stock up on goods, without much worry of zombies being around.
Well, people seem to be on hiatus (or something) so here's an EVZ (Excel Virus Zombie) for all of you:
Narrowly escaping your burning town (due to the chaos) you're smoothly going down the Mississippi river on a ferry boat. Sadly, it's something of an antique (but is still running and has plenty of fuel)
You (and everyone else in the ZSC...no they're not with you) just found out that Excel can swim. They have boarded your boat and are on the deck, as you are in the bottom of the boat (re-fueling). There's an emergency axe to your left and a fire extinguisher to your right. The zombies know where you are and are heading to you A.S.A.P.
Anyways, for this one i would have to sya grab both....
The axe would be very handy for cutting, and the fire extiguisher, eather for an explosion, or for something else...I would stay below deck. Above deck would be much easier to be over taken.

A lack of 'ifs' equals a lack of foresight Thoad. No plan survives first contact with the enemy intact, especially when the terrain is an unknown.
As to scent and crossing the water, I suspect that it is safe, safer, in fact, then disguising your scent with something smelly, because they don't really know it's your scent until they make the connection, and once they see you, your new powerful scent will be what they follow.
I don't think I would open an escape hatch that is below the waterline, though I would spend a moment wondering at the guy who put there.
I think I would let the fire die down, then climb up the smoke stack. The odds of them finding me would be slim, and even if they did, they couldn't climb up to get me. If they start climbing up each other, then I would go out the top, and hope to jump in the water and get to shore before they can follow me.

And? That seems more of a comment than a plan, dude. lol.

point taken, but if you have an "if" for something, there should also be an "if" for the alternative, I.E. it being a lake instead of a river, etc. etc.

Well you have that figured out, but you can't possibly stay on the boat forever, ya know?
