I came up with this idea not to long ago but here is the basis of it. I will post a story probably every day and let people here debate if that person should be innocent or guilty. The story could be real or fake but I won't tell you. If you have a story that you want debated, comment my profile so I can find it easier. This thread is just to get people thinking about justice. All stories will be posted in this thread. If you need help finding it, just ask what page it is on. Here is the first story...
A man was walking on a woman's porch holding a knife. He has not entered the home. She notices him and looks out the window. He holds the knife out and laughs. The woman becomes scared and releases her pit bull outside. She calls the police and they arrive 10 minutes later. However, before they arrive, the dog attacks the man and he receives serious wounds. Now we are in the court room. The man says he thought he was at his friend's home. He says that his friend left the knife at his house and was returning it. The man meant no harm to the woman and demands that she pay his medical bills for the dog bites. So, we have a woman who believes it was self defense to let the dog go. She thought he would hurt her and trespassing so she thinks he should be put in jail. She also says she does not have to pay the medical bills. He believes the dog should be put down and the woman pay his medical bills. Who is right and who is wrong? You be the judge.
Remember, you are debating what you think should be done to the man and woman. There really is no right and wrong answer. It is how you feel justice should be carried out.
Okey dokey artichokey, did the student really believe he was jack bauer? I just wanna get serious here.
If he is really insane it ain't his fault, the end. If he isn't insane attempted murder, and im sure a couple more crimes for driving like a maniac on a highway cause he's trying to ram someone.
And the other guy, hes an illegal immigrant, do what you do to illegal immigrants =P.
I just would like everyone to know that if you know a crime story that is not obvious, comment my profile with it but don't share the verdict. I will post the story and then you can share the verdict. Please make sure it is real. It would be even better if it happened in your area.
I think the college student should be sent to a mental institution and given a psychiatric evaluation, and then if he is deemed sane, punished. If not, he can just sit in a straight jacket for a while.
THe illegal immigrant can be sent back home, I suppose.
He shouldn't have laughed. He probably should have just rang the doorbell and gave the knife to her quietly.
He is rather...stupid.
I'm not sure what would actually happen in court...but I'll bet the dog would be euthanized and the man would be charged with a misdemeanor such as recklessness or similar. The family may have to pay the bills if they indeed had a knife on loan to him. Especially if the two were close friends, the family might pay anyway. If there was no "knife on loan" in question, the man would likely have to pay for the injury out of his own pocket.
I know it is earlier then I usually post a story but we pretty much cleared the last story up. Verdict...
The college student originally faced 10 years in prison but entered a plea deal and was just put on probation. The illegal immigrant was dealt with appropriately.

Two men had gone to a bar but they didn't drink and drive...or so it seems. They ended up driving their motorized lawn mowers home while intoxicated. Both men were over the legal drinking limit but thought it was safer than drunk driving. No one did get hurt so now it is up to you on what is done. You be the judge.
