Do you think that a non-nuclear & atomic war could ever happen between the United States and Russia?

I don't who'd win for sure. But it would leave millions dead. If it does happen then it would surely be WW3.

It would end up as a nuclear war, and no one wants to start that because it would put both of them in the ruin.

It may be like WW2 in that the only way to try and end it is nuclear weapons (not that it was only dropped for that reason)

If both the countries have enough sense not to satrt nuking each other than it would be the one with more allies of course this would probably be WW3 since the losers would nuke the winner and the end of civilization as we know it. I'm not sure if it would be the end of the world and might actually band all the survivors together just like at the beginning of time since animals would be mutated form residue radiation it could into an almost sci-fi movie

No I don't. First, there is no reason for it. Second, isn't Russia a third world country at this point? Would they even have the resources for a real massive war with anyone?

I thought Russia was right behind the U.S in the ranks of world powers. My sources could be wrong, but I checked a few days ago to see where turkey's at.

This sounds like an argument that would take place during the Cold War. A war is possible, but highly improbable.

Russia's never really had the resources to be a true super power, generally, when they try they end up spending so much of their budget on military power just to keep up that they ultimately collapse. However, as history has shown, that's not stopped them before, and we can be pretty sure won't stop them from trying in the future.

The SU clearly was a superpower. No argueing with that, but yes, they ended up using it on military. This is mostly because of WW2, and the arms race, also the Cold War, if you want to include that. They should of focused on reaching the communist state. They let a whole revolution go to waste.

What I meant was, does Russia have the means or resources to fight a real war with the US. I mean, the people are starving and the country is in shambles. Could they pull off a massive and expensive war with the US for more then a few months. They could try sure, but would they be much of real threat nowadays?
