Okay, I have a suggestion but I feel it's important to me to know what the opinions of others are. And before any one starts flaming me, I'm trying to be as polite and neutral on this as possible.

The Quick Feedback that is attached to every game allows users to comment as much as they want so long as they wait out the 30 second cool down. Also, no user is allowed to edit a post they've made once they hit submit.

The catch, say some one posts a comment right after one of their own, even if they aren't being belligerent or reposting the same thing; this user gets flagged for spamming. So if Joe Schmoe user forgot to say something in his post, he's S.O.L until Jane Schmoe says something.

So my suggestions are these...
1) Define the following terms "flaming, badgering, spamming, or trolling" as seen in the terms of agreement within the terms of agreement. The purpose of this would be to educate everyone and not live under the pretense that everyone is internet savvy.

2)Allow users to edit their posts at least once. [See bungie.net for reference] Purpose simply being nice to the end user. Let people correct spelling mistakes and type anything they might have forgotten.

The alternative, block users from commenting on anything if they are the most recent user to comment. If you are going to give the user the ability to post repeatedly, don't ding them for it.

Warbuff, we are generally a respectful population in this community. It is rare to see someone flame another here. I think once you delve in you will see there are some great users that post here.

But to respond to you, the editing is on its way. I see what you are saying about spam. I am a moderator and we aren't robots. We take certain situations into consideration. The worst thing that could happen if you double post is if I or another moderator come by and delete one of them if they are not relevant. So no big deal.

Does this kind of answer your question?

It's great to hear that editing is on the way; and I am looking forward to delving into the community. My past experience with support/suggestion forums is they seemed to be created for the sole purpose of making fun of those who actually have problems. It's great to see such a nice response.

Any comments/opinions on the idea # 2?

Oh, not here. A lot of members are very involved in trying to keep the site clean and fun. It's quite remarkable, considering the general age and sex population here.

But about #2 which one is #2, sorry.

Actualy I prefure these forums, they are more respectful than most. I would not worry about spam and flaming. Once in a while a bad egg falls though but they are generaly taken care of pretty fast.

Woops I meant suggestion 1 not 2. Any way, I meant this one.

1) Define the following terms "flaming, badgering, spamming, or trolling" as seen in the terms of agreement within the terms of agreement. The purpose of this would be to educate everyone that isn't internet savvy.

Yea, he should link the words to a quick definition. Good idea.

Whenever I flag someone for spamming, it is because they were obviously spamming. If they do a double post just to do a spell check or add 'oh yea and i like it', etc. then I will flag it. But if it is a valid second post then I never flag, and I don't think most people do. I always try to take it into consideration what I am flagging and whether or not it is really spam.

Plus, we go through them later on after they have been flagged, and if it is a valid post it will not be deleted.

I think your question might be better answered in the Game Walkthroughs forum. You may even find some one already posted the answer there.
(any one correct me if I'm wrong.)

No, you are right. Ally, try searching for forum topics on the matter. If then you see nothing then create a topic in the appropriate category.

one of the looked down on things in this sit is posting a thread in the wrong area. It is considered spam and the topic locked. Good job for catching on so fast warbuff.

When should a post/comment be flagged?

I don't want to get nitpicky, but when I see a comment like "this game is a bit boring" I really wonder why someone took the time to post it (other than for the obvious, APs).

Then again, I've seen dozens similar comments. I guess the question isn't whether I should report comments like that, but whether the staff wants to deal with minor annoyances.
