First, I will post the overall rules, and then I will post the specifics about this week.
Original rules, as stated by Ubertuna:
It must fit the week's theme. It must be submitted by the deadline. It cannot have inappropriate language in it. It cannot be stolen (if you plagiarize, we will find you).
Also:
The poem must be created for this contest A user cannot win two weeks in a row (though everyone is welcome to submit every week!) Only one submission per user will be accepted
As we all know, the winner will recieve a merit, and their poem will be featured on the _Poetry_ page.
OK, on to this week's topic...Again, we are having a style instead of a theme. Also, this week we are having TWO WEEKS to do it, instead of the usual one. Why? Because this will be an EPIC poem. Or, rather, a parody of an epic poem. Generally, epic poetry is very long, and tells the serious story of a heroic figure. Well, this week, the epic figure is YOU! Write a long poem (I'll leave the definition of 'long' up to you, but give it a good go) about the heroic story of you! It can be silly, serious, whatever... just have fun with it. You have two weeks, so have a great time!
a new idea a daring concept a shining prototype tempered steel panacea an anticipatory fright
the world will watch as the process starts a day to commemorate hold the applause, pass the scotch technological emirates
a blood-curdling shriek groaning metal the unthinkable occurs every single evil creak signals death's chauffeurs
in a biting, sordid epiphany the truth to you is revealed the voice of reason was the voice of treason the whole thing was planned and so through one man's demented dream civilization is undone
read this to the tune of "twinkle twinkle little star" Google, Google, Facebook, Wii Cell phone, iPod, PS3 Never walked a library floor That's what Wikipedia's for Google, Google, Facebook, Wii ...Why my homework's incomplete.

what is technology I ask, A brain surge is a blast of the future, with magnets you detect planets, with telescopes you eat cantalopes, with binoculars you drive many cars, with cell phones you eat ice-cream cones, with television you crash in collision, with clocks you build with blocks, so what is technology!
The internet is activated, Data streaming everywhere, Thousands of websites and games, The vastness of this starts to ensnare.
The cyberspider looms it's head, The trapped E-flies try to escape, But they are tightly bound by many websites, They shall be devoured like crepes.
The time is now 2 a.m., Many hours passed and wasted, Pulled off the computer by sheer tiredness, Tomorrow will be another day to stay addicted. ----------------------------------------------- I guess it's supposed to be some kinda metaphor, and joking how lots of things on the internet are related with spiderwebs.

Gold Medal
Electric blood, in the sky, Raining hard drives, we all die. A cold lightning, strikes us down, In this paradise, we will drown. Nuclear fights, drive us so, In a jungle, we will know. What was our values, they've gone away, Replaced by evil, here to stay. Insane lust, our knowledge grows, The seeds of destruction, humans sow. A quest for power, leads our lives, A quest for wealth, death arrives.

Silver Medal
Prayer Dear Lord, I pray upon this day That you may come and guide my way: For on this journey of my life I've found myself beset by strife. But still I take this chast'ning blow So my discipline can grow. I give thanks for the troubles deep That you have planned while I'm sleep, But this I ask, to make me strong Enough to help me last this long. Hear my supplication, Lord, And I shall stay upon your word. Amen.

Bronze Medal
In blackest night The brightest light Shines through the trees An endless white The smallest ant The creatures free The eternal fire The flames to be Behind the light The darkness grows The world of grey The world we know The trees of metal The forests of steel Causes the destruction That can never be healed Yet all the builders Black or white They bring death And their death brings life
