I agree with dominated that they should be given a chance to change their ways.
Do you honestly think that they should be given a second chance for the acts they've committed? I mean, these people can't necessarily be cured -- people can try and tame their demons, but it'll still be there.
Should this not require the same punishment, if not worse? In some cases the abuse may be more severe from such a person.
I can see where you are coming from but i think no matter how emotionally damaged you may be by being used by a 'laya' as andreasiq calls them it wouldnt match up to being r.aped. Also at the end of the day if the girls is of legal age then technically you arent even breaking the law which just makes those 'layas' pricks not criminals.

Thats one of the best things about western democratic societies even the murderers and rapists get a second chance. No matter how bad the crime there can alswys be some form of redemption in my eyes. Call me naiive but i like to think i just have faith in humanity.

It's not your eyes but a victim(s) that should be take into account. What redemption can there be in the rape of a small child or children? A child whose life is now messed up for the rest of his/her life. A family that must now cope with this most heinous of crimes.
What about a mother who takes her own life after a violent rape? Should the person who raped her get a second chance? Even though his actions caused multiple lives to be utterly destroyed. I could go but I hope I made my point. People like that are not people that deserve a second chance. They don't just commit rape or molestation, they destroy lives. Sometimes many lives.

Because a)they have a chance of getting out in the childs lifetime and b)they will offended again. Castration is not really enough to stop monsters from being monsters. You either have to lock them up and throw away the key or push them off a cliff.
if i was hitler im not tryin to be like evil maybe i should say if i was ruler of the world i would make murder and rape automatic death penatly and i would make all crimes under that up to 100 years in jail the crime rate would go down significantly even though its tough i have no simpathy for murderers and rapists especially rapists

spending 18years+++ in years might be a good way of giving them time to thnk through,therefore no castration is needed,there's already forms of physical pain and discriminitaion.as carlie mentioned,they need to fixed their brains up,cutting off will not change their mindset,and may even hate the opposite gender,resulting in torture and abuse of the other gender.

Its not like that the rapists life will not be ruined aswell. Albeit from his own doing. I dont mean to sound like i am condoning rape in any way, but there are such things as human rights and laws that should apply to everyone no matter what they have done otherwise the rules might aswell not be in place.
If this would be their punishment would they face any other punishement like imprisionment? After all the purpose of imprisionment is rehabilitation. If a rapist is castrated than there is little need for rehabilitation since he can not rape again.

And it would make logical sense to removed the source of testosterone (which makes a man more angry and sexually aggressive). And plus if he ever does rape again he won't be able to get anyone pregnant.
I'm in favor of Capital Punishment for rapists. That's just me, though. Forget castration, just give 'em a lethal injection. They won't be raping anyone else. Then someone will come in and cry for "human rights" for rapists... They deserve no rights.

Normally rapists dont actually commit their crimes because of testosterone although i am sure that this is a factor. More often than not it is a psychological cause normally rooted in childhood, so taking away their genitals might stop them from being able to get the girl pregnant, but the source of the problem would still be there. Also if you wanted to stop thjem from impregnating girls wouldnt sterilisation be a simpler, less messy solution?
I find this extreemely odd. Of course rape is a horrible crime, yet so far on this thread the majority of the people have advocated castration. In my opinion there are worse crimes such as this, for example murder and race attacks etc. Yet no one wantsd to mutilate them in any way, prison seems to be enough, yet when it comes to rape people seem to have real venom against it. It is absoloutely disgusting and can in no way be condoned, but at the end of the day at least the victim is(in most cases) left alive. It is murderers whom i despise more. Having so little respect for human life is to me worse than twisted sexual needs. But i am sure many people will not agree with me.
It's torture which is unconstitutional. I don't think any person can commit a crime that would warrant castration. One's genitals should be theirs to do what they want with.
And, remember, conviction doesn't always mean someone is guilty.
Honestly if i raped sumone and were going to get my genetals chopped off i would kill myself. I would rather die then live without the them. This is kinda stupid no offense, cuz there will be law suits, and the rapists will kill (or chop of the genitals) of the police officers who put them in jail after they get set free.
I think that Castration is awful and that everyone has the right to have everyone of his/her body parts. If a thug beat someone to death would you cut off his arms?
