Right, so I pulled out of the previous GFX round due to not being able to finish on time. Since then I've been working on the image on-and-off and now it's finished only about a week late.

The picture shown below is half the size, the fullsize one can be found by clicking on the picture.

The full resolution pic (1280xs1024) is low quality...the high quality version is 1.1Mb and doesn't fit on photobucket xD Lame. Except I feel justified with the size...this was hand-drawn from start to finish.

I should have tidied up the sketchlines more, but wasn't actually intending to spend this much effort on it. Meh.

That horse lady reminds me a lot of a woman that was in a Jack Nicholson film.
But I don't remember now neither the name of the film nor the actress. I will think about it.

Jack Nicholson... it can't be The Witches of Eastwick... and it probably isn't As Good as it Gets... you're almost certainly thinking of Something's Gotta Give! Which I actually mentioned on the first post of this page lol.

"Great, just gotta make sure coz I put nitroglycerin into your drip and if you had take Viagra, the combo would've made your heart leap right out of your body..."

So today I had my first two exams. They were alright. Except for one part that seemed pretty simple but none of us were prepared for. That one pretty much uniformly destroyed everybody and not even my ninja skills could save me.

My first exam was all live. The way these exams work (and I've been doing these for several years now), we have a number of stations, and then we have ten minutes per station. This means when the bell rings, we have one minute to read the instructions on the station. Then the bell rings again, and we have nine minutes to carry out those instructions in front of an examiner. The tasks we have to carry out vary from talking, examining, performing procedures and answering questions asked by the examiner (often referred to as "the minute from hell&quot. Because they're very tight on time and are live, these are among the most nerve-wracking exams I have ever had to do in my life, second to the long case (where you have to put together a ten minute presentation while seeing a patient for one hour, then go through FIFTEEN minutes of hell), and the exam I had to sit in order to get my piano teaching license (forty minute recital plus twenty minutes of hell!!!)

The one I just did was the easier of the two we have to do this semester. It's about kids. I like kids. The other one is about women. Women are a mystery to me (and I mean this in the nicest, albeit most confused possible way!) So needless to say I am doomed for that exam. Anyway.

This exam had 4 active stations and 5 rest stations in it, meaning that there was a "double rest" station for most of us. That's 20 minutes of sitting around and wondering. So in that 20 minutes I had this spare sheet of stickers so I sketched this:

And there was no table either so it was done on my lap. The page got quite a few creases in it, as you can see!

The bubby is way too small, even for a newborn. And you wouldn't see a baby sitting upright unsupported for at least six months. And definitely not displaying discriminatory aversion before 10 months, and purposeful pointing before at least the age of three. But it's a comic so one can take license!

Okay, I said to Kyouzou that I'd write a song based on the line "Chaos in the name of freedom". It was in a thread about how elements of our culture are making good parenting difficult.

So I did! And as I also said, I wrote it to the music to Every Day The Same Dream. Therefore the style is very much inspired by Radiohead.

The structure is slightly unusual, because the loop is actually 30 bars long, so I left the first eight to introduction, then the first verse takes ten bars, pause for one, and the second verse takes eleven, then repeat.

I'm not 100% happy with the lyrics but here's a draft:

---

Our Children

Open mouths, gaping wide,
All angry, all hungry,
Roaming the countryside,
Devouring all and sundry,
Just when did we decide,

To cast them out and leave them to die,
Don't water the seeds,
Leave them parched and dry,
When they turn into weeds,
Leave them to choose where they lie.

Monkey see, monkey do,
Has nobody told-
-you what will surely ensue,
The meek will lose this world,
You get me, they'll get you too,

Holding the entire world to ransom,
Running wild, as they grow,
Without feeling or reason,
We reap what we sow,
Chaos in the name of freedom.

Bravo! I liked it, have you written the music for it?

It currently uses the music to the game. I have written the melody though. I actually like how it sounds, so maybe I should try to contact Jesse Stiles...

I read the words in my head to the music, and I must say that this gets three sneezes out of three.
