It is recommended that you drink at least 1 glass of water every hour during the daylight hours every day.
The reason for this is because when you start to fell you're mouth get dry, and you are thirsty, then you are already dehydrated. So that's why you want to drink water even when you're not thirsty, in fact, you don't WANT to drink water when you're thirsty because you don't want to be thirsty. Also when you get to the point of dehydration/being thirsty, it is un healthy and very wearing on you're body.
you know what another interesting fact... Your whole entire life, thought, mind and ideas are based on a few atoms moving in and out of a membrane in your brain... Isn't that interesting.... So all your thoughts and feelings right now are just chemical reactions inside your head.... stupid huh...
Actually the food you eat is about 60% water, so you really don't need to too drink that much; this rumor that you need to drink 8 glasses of water a day is really only beneficial to bottled water manufacturers.
Water is good for you, and its hard to drink too much of it. You need to drink at least 3-4 gallons in a space of like 2 or 3 hours for it even to get remotely deadly...so i say, DRINK MORE WATER!
I love water and pop is gross, diet pop is pretty good but I drink more water, it's a very good idea to drink water so that you don't DIE! or something else happens.(not sure what)
For most people, 6-8 glasses of water a day is highly unnecessary.

Read the whole article for some interesting info for my fellow coffee drinkers; next time someone tells you that coffee doesn't count you can tell them they are wrong.
Also, it is very possible to die from drinking too much water, as one idiot here in Sacramento found out when some other idiots held a radio contest.

It should be noted that while it is not widely reported, the woman was told repeatedly by on-site medical personnel that she needed to go to a hospital for medical attention and that the DJs holding the contest got fired (though they only presented the idea and it was approved by higher ups who did not), in spite of waivers signed by the deceased.
