So, what do you guys think about this 12th planet having a 3600 year orbit, and now it will collide into Earth on December 21, 2012, the last day on the Mayan Calendar?
I think it might happen... haven't scientists researched it?
I'm thinking about what craze77 said, If an asteroid had that big of an orbit it would have to be really small to stay in orbit around our Sun from such a distance like that wouldn't it? If so then a smaller asteroid would be easier to deflect off of its course, I dont know for sure, I dont know a lot about orbits.
If you realized scientists are using proof from an ancient civilization you would know its not true. The Maya were smart but it took them a while to get things for the calender and they were still learning. They never finished it obviously. In the time that whats his face found the Maya, he killed them all and burned all their books. The Maya probly had written new things and the whites said it is devil work so the burned it. Think, I watch the History channel and I forgot how long the Mayans lived but the live I think 2000 years. 2000 and its 2000 around now. If they existed longer, they would have learned new things each year. So if I was putting things on t.v. from a 2000 year old civilization and almost no info is known about them, what a great way to learn. Making a hypothesis on things like that have a 99% chance to be wrong and it will be. Scientists thought the world would end on 2000 but it didn't, did it. It is impossible to predict this kind of stuff and the world will end very soon, in Earth's case because of carbon-dioxide, but the reason the only life maybe in the universe will die is it self. After us, the germs and bacteria like things will evolve into new creatures but nature may never make one of them have a smaller gut or whatever they have, or a bigger brain like thing, only us humans did and it spelt disaster to the world
no, because the mayans worked on a completely diffrent principle. they didnt have days, weeks, and years. and if they did, the were made up of the same times. they wouldnt have know what december 31st was.

Lol, I don't know how many times I've explained this Kamacaz, but "what's his name" is Cortez, and he wiped out the Aztecs, not the Mayans. The Mayans were the race that disappeared without a trace, and were extremely scientifically advanced for their time.
All because they stopped the calendar there means that they knew we would collide into this planet? How would they know this was going to happen? What did they have back then to help them identify this planet?

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY ROADRIPPER, I DO NOT BELIVE THIS WILL HAPPEN BUT I DO BELIVE SOME OTHER WEIRD THING WILL HAPPEN IN 2012, I HAVE LEARNED RECENTLY THAT THERE WILL BE A SHIFT IN THE DEGREES OF THE EARTH AXIS. IT IS NORMALLY 23.5 DEGRESS TILT BUT THIS WILL CHANGE SUPPOSIVELY AND SOME OF THE POLAR ICE CAPS WILL MELT CAUSEING GLOBAL FLOODING AND MASSIVE DAMAGE WORLDWIDE.
