Hey, I don't know if any of you out there have cameras in school, but our district is considering putting cameras in. Personally, I think cameras in schools are a double- edged sword. ON one hand, they will help with drugs and people breaking school codes and other laws. On the other, it is an invasion of people's privacy, and the stoners will just go into the bathrooms to conduct business. What does the body of AG think?

Oh what I would do to have cameras when I was in school... And HOW is this invading school privacy? If people aren't doing what they are supposed to be doing it's their fault anyways. My school didn't allow kissing, sex, (dear lord I hope yours doesn't too) and cuddling in the hallways. They allowed some forms of hugging and holding hands though.

Cameras would've been awesome in my time. It would've caught many of the thieves and shooters (drugs) and weed smokers in the school (I apologize if this is inappropriate here). My school would've actually been CLEAN!! Technology these days..

Hey, hope your budget can afford good cameras man = ) Thumbs up for me.

Ah, I thought some parts were inappropriate. As said in my other reply I apologize. Most of you youngins are teens right? Just this once isn't going to kill anyone.

Does having cameras in a super market considered an invasion of privacy, has long has it's not in the bathrooms i'm pretty much ok with cameras in school.

Unless the cameras are in a locker room or in the bathroom, it's perfectly legal and not an invasion of privacy. If you're doing nothing bad, you've got nothing to worry about.

Plus, it's not like the cameras would be constantly monitored. They would simply be useful for looking back if something bad happened. (I.e., if something is stolen, or if there is a fight).

If you call picking up groceries while someone is watching an invasion of privacy... But then again, I don't want the security camera guy is watching me pick up Yoplat Yogurt by myself. Nah j/k about the nervousness part. But I do actually do that.

Can you repeat that? Like if there was a robbery they can check the tapes or something like that?

@shintetsu

exactly my point, walking down the hallway, does it differ from walking down a super market filled with cameras and not considered and invasion of privacy!

I never agreed that it did, I was just pointing out the different arguments, personally, I think that it is just a waste of money for the school and taxpayers, because as stated before, the stoners will just go into the bathrooms to get high.

Why should people care what you buy? They are just looking for people that are shoplifting. They don't care if you are buying inappropriate stuff (if that's what you are doing). The security guys get paid to do this you know : )

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just a place to buy stuff, just buy your items and walk on home.

Why are you worried about privacy? What have you got to hide? The cameras there are only for security and thats it.
