This was inspired by the book "Digital Fortress". So i figured I should put it in the Popular Media section.

Try and solve this code:

XAX KAG IUM

And just so you know, the fact that there all capitals has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Without looking into the shift cipher, it already looks like I won.

What does that mean? And how have you won?

Is this an IBM - HAL problem?

*_* What?

He won because he figured it out. You'll win too if you can, just like I did.

There is bit of a hint in my last post. But look again at the cipher:
ABCDEFGHIJKLM
NOPQRSTUVWXYZ
See if you can find the pattern between that and the code:
XAX KAG IUM

Erm I kind of made this thread so Gantic if you won, tell me the answer, and if you got it right I will give you guys another code, only slightly harder.

But i don't think you got it, but give me you're answer anyway AND how you got the answer.

I only didn't give the answer because I wanted other people to figure it out before the answer was revealed. And I'm sure Gantic felt the same in not telling how he got the answer.

Ricador, you made the code, Gantic figured out the code by telling us he won. I'm sure you can figure that he really did get it. I just noticed this but there is another clue in Gantic's last post.

Wow then can you E-Mail me what you got so i can at least tell you if you're right.

I'm really curious to see if you got it.

wilkinsboy@comcast.net

And here's another hint:

The answer is three words, no other numbers or symbols, just three words.

An IBM - HAL riddle is a riddle where every letter represents the letter a certain number of letters before or after the letter in the code. In an old movie, there was a computer named HAL. It was a parody of IBM. The reason they named it HAL was because they took the letter before the letters in IBM, so they got HAL.

Do you have to use the same letters that are in the code? If not, then the the code should just consist of *

Sorry for the double post but now to answer Agent_86's question:

No, it is not, each letter represents one different letter.

I sent you how I got the answer. Bit odd now that I've looked at the code and cipher closely. I just read the posts and took a quick look at the cipher and got it.
