I disagree. As others have hinted at, the question "why" floats within most human experience. The question can be applied, and is applied, to almost every situation. So leaving it open is simply that: leaving the question open to whoever needs to ask it. trigger347 really makes a good point, that since the question is open, the answer too will be open, and probably mean different things to the asker and answerer. It is a flawed question, to be sure. But interestingly enough, no one has suggested a better question yet.
Why why?
Why not why?
So for Genesis 1:1a, don't you mean "In the beginning when God..."? All depends on your interpretation. Or even "When God began to create the heavens and the earth." Someone already tried suggesting God and fate as answers to "why," but those are answers to "what" or "who" or "how" not "why".

??? Yes it can be applied to almost everything, but why alone is not a question!
Why chocolates? Why potatoes?
Makes no sense at all. Be specific. Why can 'why' be applied to everything?
I don't get it...are you trying to start a topic on the ultimate question being why? How is it? Thats like saying where? When? How? You havent added anything...So it makes no sense...
Yes the Question is Why?. With asking 'where', or 'what', you only need to answer with one word (in most cases). With 'why' you need a reasoning behind your answer. As for 'how' it is similar but the answer requires less thought.

Essentially anything ending in a question mark is a question. For example, If I say "Drace?" I'm asking for confirmation. and you would answer by confirming. 'Why' can be applied to anything simply because in anything, there lies a question.Example: -Why did you join ArmorGames? -Why did you decide to reespond to this post? -Why did you ask so many questions about 'why'? And there, of course, are many many more.
_____Aquajag_____ My answer to 'Why?': Simply because it is and can be.
Well, as I said earlier, there are some questions that are impossible for our finite minds to comprehend. Another is, "What is a black hole?" Sure, you can explain it scientifically, but you will always be wanting for more than that... Many can ask the question "Why?", but we will never be satisfied with our answer.
sometimes, simple answers can answer your questions agent_86. for example, the answer to why is whynot? and a black hole, is just a hole that is black.
