I say heck no! That is not fair for gay people to wed. I have many gay friends who i think would love to get married. I think if two people love each other they should get married. So what if they are the same sex it shouldn't matter. And for people saying that is against god or w/e you think it is against, let me tell you god loves all his kids AND love is between two people man/woman man/man woman/woman, not the whole world. So it shouldn't be peoples decisions just the couples. So i ask you all to vote no on prop 8 and let everyone wed, help spread the word!

Yes, Gantic it was. Can't imagine how you guessed (I'm kidding).

Apparently both pro and anti prop 8 people are still at the capitol. That's where I was supposed to go I just stumbled onto the other group by accident since they were in our local gay-borhood/business district and I work there.

Wait...Carlie are you in Sac town too? If you're on the myspace or facebook a lot of this stuff has been making the rounds there amongst my friends.

Close by, which is why I was hoping it wasn't my school supplying the 'Yes' people. Of course I doubt it. I haven't seen any events for things yet, of course I haven't really had a whole lot of time to actively look. My professors are so mean for making midterms and papers due around elections ;-P

Stupid professors. Go check out http://www.VRP.info (gay friendly biz directory if you've never heard of them). Normally that's where I work. In any case they have a myspace presence and are connected to the rest of the gay/friendly community through there as well. They've been sending out lots of activist stuff when it's come up.

Can you, as an admin, access my email info and the like? If you have a hard time finding them or anything shoot me a message. I don't game here as much as on Kong so I'm easier to catch thataway. I can help you track down some peeps if you want.

I'm trying to remain convinced that this loss is actually a win. That it will get us to the supreme court at the national level and we will fix this. We have to fix this.

The national supreme court has already decided not to touch the issue...

That's where I was going with my "I wonder if I can extend this to the US generally" because, as Agent_86 has said (and maybe it's true), it may not be discussed federally at this point.

Of course this does not preclude the possibility in the future. From what Obama has said, I would say that pro-equality lobbyists should not feel discouraged in their efforts from this.

I don't think it is in any way a win. There are some positives though. First of all, it is getting the issue out there into the public eye by drawing a huge amount of publicity. That is the first step. Next, we are seeing a huge amount of support. Granted, it was not enough. But it isn't entirely bad that almost half of Californians voted their support for equal rights. It's not as much as we need, but that is a pretty big step already. Besides, this will get appealed and won't get through anyways. I am just disappointed that it has to come down to that.

I support animal rights, don't get me wrong. But I think it is sad that this election in California did more for chickens then it did supporting the rights of homosexuals.

Pssst...Carlie...just started getting these on Myspace:

Come one come all...

I was able to attend the protest tonight. It had a great turn out! hopefully we can make tomorrow night just as beneficial. Protest starts at 7pm. On the west steps of the state capital building. It is a silent protest. Bring candles and signs if you wish. Tell a friend.

I must have missed something.

What's this about chickens?

Our Prop 2 was about animal conditions on factory farms.

But you know what was funny?

Both the "Yes on 8" and "No on 8" ads had featured Barack Obama and said that he supported their respective sides...

I'm glad that prop 8 passed. It's about time this madness is starting to slow down.
