Space is very important grimml, if you're talking about land mass? You can't compare America to Ireland and Germany. Americas population is approx 312,147,000 Ireland population is approx 4,670,976 And Germanys population is approx 81,453,305
Complete different scale, so of course the number of crimes will be higher.

With Germany at least even factoring in the larger population of the US to Germany we are still getting a disproportionate crime rate.
Oh, and I forgot to say why I posted the image. Since Reagan's Anti-Drug Abuse Act in 1986 the number of imprisoned people in the USA went really high. Maybe you should legalize drugs to get more space...
That's an option... but I still think there are people who commit crimes that merit death. I wonder how often ex-cons try and hunt down the people that got them incarcerated. I wonder if the witness protection program is used to protect people from ever being found by the people who they got put in jail... or to help from being found before the person gets put in jail... It couldn't be for keeping the people safe after the person gets out of jail... I mean people are reformed when they get out of prison. They're no longer hardened cold hearted criminals who want to hurt people. Either they don't get out of jail ever, or we need to find a more permanent solution... b/c sometimes people get out of jail... (one way or another.)
i am really confused ..first of all .the main goal of punishment is amend culprit.thats why life sentence isnt appropriate to this .. otherwise death penalty isnt appropriate either. because death penalty cannot be solution. it is against the main law .right to live.
