i dont beleive in global warming because i think that it is so gradual that by the time it is dangerous the next ice age will counter act it

Does any one else have any views or opinions about that?

What have you done to reduce carbon emissions, even in your house?

no thats the wrong way to look at it. It isnt gradual, and we have no idea when the next ice age will be. plus, that would cause us to burn more fuel to heat stuff (if we r alive), counteracting the ice age

lol im guessing an american started this topic... Just a guess. Its happening and even look at the video an inconvenient truth (ive had to watch it f'cking 3 times through my grade 10 year... its the most boring movie you will ever watch.) the only part i can remember is him showing that huge graph. And its true, this world is screwing up due to our grandfathers and parents. Its not our generations fault that this is happening. All i can say is that reducing our energy input is already to late. Thats not rlly doing shit all to help at this moment. The only things we should be doing is shutting down oil sands, shutting down fossil fuels, and shutting down companies who rely on expelling to much harm into the environment. If everyone got a hybrid/electric car i think that may help the environment. Alot of you seem clueless about when this will happen. We
ll start seeing the world starting to collapse under global warming when were around 50 (unless something changes). We'll probably die by the time it does hit, but our kids will get the full throttle of it. Another thing, have you noticed the temp increases through out the world? Thats a cause of global warming...

Well, if you look at a chart from the past thousand years, you can easily see the temperature rising, however, from the past 300,000 years (since homosapiens originated) temperature has naturally gotten much hotter, and colder than this.
Change in the earths temperature is natural, and so are people that worry about it.

In 1974 Time Magazine had an article all about the "Next Ice Age". And nothing happened did it? There have been false accusations before, just because we're now in the 21st century doesn't mean that we're automatically right.

And even if the earth IS warming up, there is no proof that humans caused it. There are MILLIONS of variables that have changed, and each of them has had an affect on the global temperature.

I wouldn't risk out already damaged economy by not using gas, shutting down out factories, stopping all our cars. It's absurd to do something like that, or even think of it.

Well, the earth goes through 60-year cycles, and the hottest of which was in 2000. 30 years ago, everyone thought that we all would freeze to death...

The earth has actually gotten colder over the past 8 years...

It doesn't matter if it's happening or not, because in any case SOMETHINGS making the earth get hot, and that just plain sucks.

Yes, the year goes through cycles, but not this dramatically. And the Earth is not getting colder, it is getting more extreme. Summers are getting warmer, winters are getting colder.
