Maybe it's just me, but for some reason, Super Smash Bros. Brawl doesn't feel right. The action was slowed down, a few characters got nerfed (poor Samus), and I feel like it really lost its competitive edge. Don't get me wrong, the adventure mode was outstanding, but I'm talking about the actual fighting. It seems like a "dumbed down" version of SSBM. Thoughts?
First of all, I dont own a Wii. But i have played a lot of SSBB at my local video game lounge. I think you are right, SSBB is a bit slower in the action, and just generally not as fun as SSBM. But I still think it is a great game, worth at least an 8/10 and it kills time very easily. Hope I helped.
I kind of was...........I thought it would be much better. And, I thought their was going to be a better gamepaly expierence, and I thought thier was going to be better characters.
I say it's slow because the gameplay is clearly subpar when compared to SSBM. The dodging takes more time, the attacks aren't as fast, and it makes the difference from one player to another much less significant. This means that worse players get an advantage whereas the better players lose their edge. Players like Ike would normally have no chance against regular players due to his speed, but with the reformed gameplay he becomes a competitor. The speed and furiosity of SSBM is what made me love the game...but it's been dumbed down.
I liked it at first because adventure was fun, but I agree it is not a very good game n the long run. My biggest problem was Smash balls and the attacks. The were to cheap and it made it so the objective wasnt to kill but was to run away and hide til the smash ball came near.
it seems the AI has been dumbed down to the point its not challenging anymore, the smash balls are cheap and ruin the game, a lot of the characters completely suck, and the story mode was way too long and way too boring. the longest couple hours of my life, that i wish i had back. replay value is pretty low, and there is a sense any seasoned vet can get wooped by a noob buttonsmasher.
