This thread will more or less just be here for my own "entertainment's" sake - meaning I don't wanna be told off for double or triple posting if no one comments on what I put up here.
I'm only saying this, because I know threads with stories and such tends to be forgotten. I would love comments on what I post.
Alright then.
I have two languages I'm developing for my worlds/species. I haven't worked on them for a very long time, but now I feel like getting back to it. So I'll be posting incomprehensible text here. Sometimes with a translation, mayhaps I'll even post the dictionaries in the progress...
AND THERE WILL BE TONS OF SPELLING ERRORS BECAUSE AG HATES SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN WRITING.
And there shall be pictures, for I have alphabets for my creations.
To begin with - a poem with a structure strongly based on one about Aragorn in 'The Lord of the Rings'.
I really liked the structure of that poem, and found it fitting, so changed a bunch of things and came out with a 'ost doomsday' prophecy from Hrowan (one of my worlds).
English
From the Darkness a Fire shall be woken
The King through the shadows will fall
Renewed be the World that were broken
The Ash brought to life by his Call
Danish (just because it's gibberish to most of you :P)
Fra Moerket skal en Flamme blive vaekket
Skygger vaere skyld i Kongens fald
Fornyet blive Verden som blev knaekket
Asken bragt til live af hans Kald
Yaltan (with aforementioned errors - why no n with a ~ on it??)
Ki za Othot zz'gun zan Ignan fyhr weinahn
Za Chohn zehj za Ydahrnt zohnn lushun
Hinah fyrah Hrowan ayn ehn hindahn
Za Naal charhn yy lai fu soha Vauhn
Massel (the language of mazzelhs, yay!)
narrph'ka'ond-drrthon
drru-ond'thal-un'ad
rruno'drruzon-zoph'non
rrtho'hrrunol-drrad
Enjoy the gibberish here, and the gibberish to come.

It is not massel, Raigeki, it is Yaltan. Massel is most likely very hard to get a dictionary for, unless you include tailmovements and the way the tone sounds, as most of the words only consist of purring sounds.
"A big but", Zega? But what?
I tried to pronounce some of the "words" and it just sounded like a speech impaired guy with a heavy Asian accent. Hahaha. But it must have been hard to come up with all this.Certainly took a while~ And lol. ^^
After a few more posts perhaps, I could learn a bit more Yaltan.Well, since Cenere posted the slightly faulty dictionary...~
is the massel language a real language or a made-up language?? it seems peculiar to me...Made up. Very made up.
Sadly the special signs had to be cut out to make it work... But English to Yaltan, temporary dictionary.More outdated than temporary, but thanks for finding it~
Just so people know, that version was made mostly so I could keep
track of the language and is not necessarily a good way to learn it~
A osta sehs!A = the sound a...
Lol, do you know what it means?
Osta = big.
Sehs = but.
So... Ahhh, big but. Sorry if you were looking for the word butt, it isn't implemented yet.
@raigeki:
Two languages going on in this thread, be careful not to get them confused~
Even though mazzelhs often take Yaltan names in addition to their birth names...
Zaht ahn zan maohr-tauh offohr if anantah. Err... Tash, z't'ahn aerhon... Sehs maohr plz?
big but. Sorry if you were looking for the word butt, it isn't implemented yet.Yeah, I knew that. Lol, I just thought it would be funny.
This is very interesting work. I couldn't translate it if my life depended on it, though. ;P
Hmm... Apparently you can reply to us without us knowing what you're saying.
Are you giving out lessons? You can be the next Rosetta stone.
*Stares blankly @ Cenere's posts*
Well, at least I tried... Feels like the time you were laughting at me for having done the alphabet "wrong", because you seemingly had updated it without me knowing, or what the nenchiss there was wrong...
It's slightly faulty because the right letters won't show in all the words... And it's outdated, but you didn't do it wrong.
@flappybob:
Lol yes~
No lessons yet, though, it's not done enough~
Mif? No lessons?
I look forward to seeing the finished product...
*Waits impatiently*
*Taps fingers*
*Sings a song*
Is it done yet?
*laughs*
I think there was something I promised to continue...

massel seems to be french like. now i get it.. thank you cenere
I can't help but hope our far distant progeny will mistake this for French.
By the great power of thread necromancy, I raise this thread to the first page once again.
Rough translation?
Written as it would have been in English, so grammar is corrected from the Yaltan and a few lines have been changed to capture the meaning:
We travel to the ocean
and the land beyond the dream
because the Darkness
covers our days
and Shadows of Death
slowly cover us
When the Present is broken
and the moons shine down
in the Time of Darkness
our Souls will soar above the sea
and the end of the Sun
tear our Mother apart
But when our Souls
are slain by the End
a new Time will rise itself again
And then the song will fade into darkness
for in the End
everything will vibrate and glow
in the Everlasting Night
Then we fear
not Death
But the pain and the loss
from the Shadows
There's a great deal I could explain about this, but basicly it's a song. If you wanna know more about it, ask.
Okay, I'll bite.
1) Is this a prophecy or something that had already come to pass?
2) Who made it and who does it apply to?
3) If you were willing to perform some dark thread ritual to raise this topic, can I expect to see more of this language in the near future? It's pretty interesting.
1) It's titled Za Icseltu fu za Solq (The song of the End), and was a prophecy at the time it was written.
2) IRL: I made it. It applies to a race of semi-amphibious humanoids who are one of the main sentient species on the planet Yaltama.
In-world: No one recalls who wrote it any longer, as in what I consider "resent day" (which is silly, since I can scroll back and forth along the timeline) it is considered somewhat ancient. Probably one of the previous people. A seer of some sort. Applies to their future and how the world will end (according to mythology).
3) Maaaaaaaaaybe. Considering that I raised it from four months ago it is not likely that this thread will be regularly updated, but it is less likely that I will completely forget it.
(which is silly, since I can scroll back and forth along the timeline)
You as in the creator of Yaltama or a character borne from the world Yaltama?
Applies to their future and how the world will end (according to mythology)
And did it? Also if it did, is this the sort of thing that tends to repeat?
