Everybody is talking about the first black president, but nobody is mentioning Barack Obama's mother. Barack obama's mother is from the plains, and is 100% white. So unless his father is 100% black, then Mr. Obama cannot be considered the first black president.
Obama's father is NOT 100% black. He's not even 50% black. Only one of Obama's great-grandparents is actually black!!!
Therefore, even though Obama may have a good tan, he is the 44th white president of the US.
Gantic, thank you, youre totally on the same page as me.
Agent, look at it this way. Im from Northern Ireland but we're under rule from Britain. Would you consider me to be British or Irish? Like in your own opinion.
Sooo, you're trying to spoil the election by stripping a man of his identity? Stop being a sore loser.
I don't want to change the election, I just want to shut everyone up about "the first black president" because he's not really black!!!
Agent, look at it this way. [I'm] from Northern Ireland but we're under rule from Britain. Would you consider me to be British or Irish? Like in your own opinion.
Well, if you're Irish, you're Irish, it doesn't matter what flag you're under...
If you've black ancestry [regardless of how much], then you're black regardless of what title people want to put you under.
Look at the amount of new generation americans claiming to have irish ancestry dating way back to the famine? They can still call themselves part irish, its how they percieve themselves and its their sense of belonging. Obamas african roots are his sense of belonging. He;'entitled to it. Why argue against him? He's not exactly singing on here and creating a forum post about your racial identity.
Black being a skin color? Yes. You don't have to be of complete African descent to be considered black...In Texas, I had tons of half-white, half-black friends who considered themselves black. I agreed with them on that. So why can't Obama do the same?
Exactly Zootsuit. Agent, he's not going aroung saying "Im black because im african". it doesnt matter where he's from, his skin is black and he sees himself as black. Let him have pride in his race.
His skin is darker, but it's not black. He could be called the first Arab-American president, and I would be fine with that. But calling him black would be like calling me Polish when only one of my grandparents is actually Polish...
So, you're denying every black person out there that doesn't have coal-dark skin their own heritage? That seems pretty cool. You're just reaching for things to bash him on now, man. Give it up.
But calling him black would be like calling me Polish when only one of my grandparents is actually Polish...
I'm half Irish and half French but I hate France so when asked my ancestor I say Irish. Are you saying I have no right to do this because only half my ancestors were from Ireland? Do I have to state my entire racial profile because it's somehow misleading to just go with my very Irish last name and just say Irish?
