A ppint where there are no illnesses? Think about it, I mean our body adapts to stuff very quickly,do you think it's possible with the help of medicine as well? I mean, foresay,Our bodys adapt to where there are no more chicken pocks, and all illnesses.
I think there is more reason in the opposite. Diseases do evolve far faster than humans adapt, and since we have somewhat stopped evolving, there is probably no way, it will happen.

Take note i said "Help with medicine"
And also, yes yes,but maybe a medicine might wipe out the contagious ones first, then the more harder (like cancer) later. But look at it this way,1940 highest life was what 70? or 60? and now average is 80+,prettuy dang good # to me,and medicine, might amp it up.

Exactly. I don't think we have stopped evolving though. As time continues, we will still continue to evolve as a species. It just takes a really long time, especially since we are such large animal. Organisms with long generational times take longer to adapt. But that doesn't mean it isn't happening ;-) But viruses are much smaller, and do have the capability of evolving much more quickly. If anything, through the use of medicine, we are making viruses more resistant to drugs, and therefore more deadly.
In nature, populations have population oscillations. There are large die offs, and big population booms. The think is, populations can't grow indefinitely. Right now, we are growing in an exponential way. This is impossible to sustain. We will either hit the carrying capacity of Earth and even out, or we just have a very long oscillation period and we will have a massive die off. A killer virus would actually be a very fast and efficient way to do that.
So to sum it all up, no, this isn't going to happen. If anything, the viruses will finish US off.

One of the ways for animals to evolve is because of the weakest ones die, or the mutated winning... Also, since viruses split up/part, they evolve way faster.
@Theone99: There are so many viruses and bacteria being imune to common medicine, becuse we either stop taking the medicine top early, or take the wrong one/take it too often. If you stop taking medicine for something before you should, the bacteria living through will be harder to kill with that type of medicine next time, as it will gain imunity because of that. Just like when you get vacinated by having a tiny bit of a disease injected into your body. Not enough to make you actual ill, but enough for your body to make the defence against the disease for later use.

Not with humans. We keep everyone around, regardless of how evolutionarily fit they might be. Gives some evil people (like Hitler) the idea for eugenics. Making a better human race by wiping out the weakest.
Exactly. This means that we evolve a lot slower than we could, along with humans having a - fit form for our purpose. Like sharks, having the perfect form for hunting. Basically, the only change have been their size.

And extreme morphologies! You brought up marine stuff, I could go on for hours about it ;-) lol. Yes, sharks have gotten smaller, but they have also had a huge evolutionary radiation to a wide variety of morphologies. But that is sort of off topic.
But either way, we would evolve slowly. Whether we are harboring the sick and unfit or whatever. Plus, we are becoming a more homogenous population more and more as time goes on. Makes speciation and adaptation to conditions very hard, since we are constantly changing our conditions.
Perhaps. If we live that long. I have a sneaking suspicion that we will destroy ourselves far before we advance to the point where we are immune to diseases. With bombs. Or excessive global warming. Or super viruses. Or mutant space monkeys.
If you think of it this way if we use antibiotic in succesion our body will become immune to the antibotic and not work as efficently which would cause an increase in sickness. For plans like cancer I think Kemotherapy is almost the same as using antibiotics your body just becomes immune to it...(Yeah,..most of this could be wrong in a way or I have it backwards.)

I hope for the monkeys.
Lol, well I don't know about the monkeys, but I do agree that we will probably be the cause of our own eradication.
for some reason virusesare always one step ahead of us
Errr.... not really for some reason. We sort of already went over why this happens early in the thread.
