I'm just gonna say that I agree with the system that is already in place, except I think the weak little "YOU HAVE TO BE OVER 18 TO ENTER THIS WEBSITE" button could be changed to actually stop people under 18 from entering. Then there won't be these disillusioned 13 year olds who think sex is what is on the video.
And how would they stop anyone who's under 18? You'll need to enter in a driver's license number? What if you don't drive? What form of identification will be backed up online? Many sites already state that you have to ENTER your age, by selecting the month/day/year, and that in doing so you accept their terms and agreements. (Granted this is to protect the site).
It's too easy for anyone to find porn online. Google's images search with everything turned off is probably the easiest way. And Google has no age limit. What to make of that.
Anyway, after reading 13 pages about everyone's viewpoint on porn, it seems (at least from my point of view) that many people here are either 1)under age or 2)possessing this mentality that "
orn is wrong" due to whatever reasons. I don't see much of an argument to be made here. The OP asked if it should be illegal. The simple answer is no. For anyone who says, "how can you say that? Porn is immoral and thus wrong." You know, porn is not immoral. Since when was it immoral to find women (sorry ladies, this post is coming from a guy's perspective) attractive? Funny thing is, you felt it too, before you knew what it was called; that sensation of looking at a woman a being aroused. Yeah, I'm calling every single guy who went through puberty out right now.
And
jonnypants23,
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?Yes , but I believe porn makes men cheat on their wives because they know there is always a better looking women out there.
There is no way you can believe that porn makes men cheat. Porn, in any form is INTANGIBLE. A man will not cheat on his wife just because he's looking at some woman with no clothes on, that he CANNOT EVEN TOUCH. That's completely preposterous.
I agree with the point of views of
Zophia and
ChopstickBoB here, porn should definitely be legal. It's such a large industry both in and out of the United States, that I find it to be almost impossible to make it illegal.
As far as an age limit, I think it should be mandatory, and 18 is just fine. Since over the internet, it really doesn't matter, it's kind of a moot point. But for all of you people under 18, try to walk into a Borders and buy Playboy. You know, that magazine with the ALL BLACK plastic wrap. When you try to buy porn that's sold on newsstands or in public places, you bet they ask for ID.
I just feel that many people here aren't mature enough to understand the depth of the issue at hand. And before you ask, do I like porn, yes I do. I've been looking at "
orn" as far back as I can remember. Yeah, I was about 6 years old when I saw female genitals on printed paper. Granted my father is an OBGYN, and it was in a textbook, but still it was real (not drawn), and it was graphic. Is my mind scarred? No, but I am considering OBGYN as a specialty of medicine.
