For three years now, Family guy has been broadcasting a comedic show with the principle that insulting almost every ethnicity, gender, and religion is funny. Generaly, it is. I used to watch it every night, until they crossed the line. Peter made a joke that people with aids don't go to heaven. My cousin, who i was watching with, has fought with aids for 2.5 years. Am i overreacting, or was that completely uncalled for?
That is why the show got closed, for the same reasons. People shouldn't take offense to cartoons, because of course, it's not correct.
Isn't this the same problem with the user being offended by the ads in AG? Of course the ads are just there to lure you into clicking on their site, its not true in any way.

I really disliked this show because in almost every show they make fun of God and christains. And I dont think thats funny at all.
You won't believe how many people laugh when they say 'That guy has AIDS!' o.O...... It's all part of our current society, that big bundle of spaghetti-looking society.

It used to be, some years back. Then the viewers shoved the cancellation into the medias' faces by petitioning it back. Oh by the way, doesn't South Park do the exact same thing, except less funny and somewhat fail~ish?
Now listen. People like Seth McFarlane know exactly what viewers want in order to be interested in a show, and that's extreme violence, comedy parodies, and of course, sexual preferences. That's what turns us on, and it shows, for Family Guy is the #1 adult cartoon show viewed, much more than SP is, and it's all because they know how to keep us interested. They start it up with a hilarious opening scene, give us a conflict, laugh it up as the story moves on, keep us on the edge of our seats in the climax, teach us a life lesson, then finishes it up with some extra-hilarious move that makes us remember the episode. This is all for them to earn popularity, and none of the "extreme moments" should ever be taken offense to, because it will just end up canceling the show, which will just be brought back up later.
That's what the theme song is all about; it tells us that not all of Family Guy is all violent and terrible, it also teaches us not what to do.
Now go watch some episodes that kept America's teens out of college ;P
Well, I can totally relate to what you are saying. Remember this, my friend has A.I.D.S. and he makes joke about A.I.D.S. ALL the time. Sometimes it's hurtful, but that's life! No matter if we agree or disagree, you just have to take it as a joke, like it is, don't stop watching it just because of that one joke! =)

I'll just say the generics. Don't watch it if you don't like it. It's all in good humor. It's healthy to not take everything so seriously. Everyone has a soft spot. The episode I'm watching currently probably made fun of 10 people I've never heard of. Mayor West, paraplegics, Chinese people, social behaviors, the movie Cast-away, midgets, blind people, Black people, homosexuals, and the list will go on. I'm sure they've gotten a bunch of complaints but they haven't stopped yet. You said you have watched it regularly, I'm sure you have laughed at many other offensive jokes since it didn't have to do with your friends, family or yourself. Somewhere out there when you were laughing got just as peeved as you are now. You can choose to be angry or just not support the shows views which are probably stereotypes made for laughs.
Like people have said, you can't take Family Guy seriously. And Peter, who usually delivers all of the offensive jokes, isn't supposed to be a genius (for example, he performs life-threatening stunts and eats burgers until he's hospitalized).
Peter Griffin is supposed to be the lowest common denominator. You are supposed to hear the worst possible things come out of his mouth. Which is why you usually hear the anti-peter, Brian, come back and correct all the stupid things that come out of his mouth.
You are supposed to be shocked and appalled by what Peter says. That's the point of a character like Peter. Sometimes the show goes over the line but we are free to change the channel.
Family Guy is okay, but I wouldn't miss it if it was to be pulled off the air. I think we'd be luckier with Futurama, but maybe they just pulled the plug on that before it started to go like other shows, like the Simpsons and Family Guy, loosing quality by the episode.
o and the reason its funny is because their so racist lmao if they make fun of you get over it its not real. people take that crap seriously and its pathetic
