Parallel Universes, do you think they're real? Why or why not? Do you have proof to support your claim?

I personaly think that they are real, but there's proably only 2-3 including ours.

Well one thing I have to say is that I think the string theory is stupid, based on the miniscule knowledge of it I have. The little knowledge of it I have is that everything is connected by strings. That's it. I hope that little knowledge is wrong because that just sounds ridiculous to me. The theory sounds so outrageous that I don't want to look it up. Now about parallel universes. Uh. I don't know, I doubt it. If the universe is expanding three dimentionally, then wouldn't they eventually collide, even if parallel? Isn't there also a theory that like atoms have universes on them or something? I don't know, seems like I heard it somewhere. This is one of the things I have very little knowledge on so I'm probably completely wrong about everything I've said, so please don't get mad at me and I apologize if I'm incorrect.

I don't think it's possible but then I start thinking wait we have a huge galaxy and a universe which goes on forever. So I think anything is possible by now. Plus Chuck Norris is another example for any thing is possible.

watch it on the science channel or discovery sometime and they'll explain it better and make it seem more interesting rather than just reading it off the internet

Chuck Norris has his own universe

then wouldn't they eventually collide, even if parallel

they collide very often, each time this happens a big bang occurs

I think the string theory is stupid

string theory is a "theory for everything" albert einstien tried so desperately to make,
there are two types of things...electromagnet and gravity..they have different sets of laws and he just tried to connect them

m-theory is that even smaller than atoms there are tiny membranes each is a parallel universe following quantum rules

now space could have atoms if they were drifting from somewhere, other than that it is a vaccum

I find it fascinating, and I do believe in it. The thoeries are a little weak in that the main reason we thnik that it's true is because there are no scientific laws broken by the concept. I'm not hating when I say this, but it's almost as unscientifically supported as religion, except for the fact the religion periodically disregards the laws of physics.

total bullshit, there would be other planets identical to ours with some differences, not universes.

since the definition for universe is somthing like

"everything that has, and will ever be" or w.e

In reference to thelistman's video, it does seem like a fascinating subject. Very complex, the video was excellent, although admittedly I did not understand all of it. Despite the fcat that I am not sure of the target audience, I would assume some advanced level knowledge of physics would be required to truly understand all of it.

It reminded me of formation flight-especially display teams. You consider 4 dimensions whilst doing so, whether you are too far forward, backwards, leftward or rightward, whether you are too far vertically upward or downward, and also whether you manouvre at the same time. It is nice to be able to use a real life application of this type of seemingly abstract physics.

Fascinating video thelistman. I understand what he was saying and it explained a bit. I fear he oversimplified the idea to a point it at which it becamse complicated again (if that makes sense). Although I new parts of it already he lost me a bit at the "folding" dimensions. I'm not sure if he was saying it was possible to jump between places and to different points in time or not. Oh well this is why I'm not a phycisist (not yet anyway lol).

its possible that every thing that ever happens can happen in million different way those millions of different ways something could happen may be a different universe in a sense it would be an infinitasvere.
But what the hell do I know im only 15

Thanks for the video's Graham they were great at explaining some of this. I love horizons anyway. This is why I love physics.

Probably a dumb point but...

in thelistmans video they say that for the "flatlanders" would see 3D things as 2D shapes passing through. Could ghosts and rubbish like that be (if they are real) something in a different dimension or something from one of the infinate numbes of alternate realities.
