Parallel Universes, do you think they're real? Why or why not? Do you have proof to support your claim?

I personaly think that they are real, but there's proably only 2-3 including ours.

i believe in ghosts...but am perplexed how they exist

one video about electromagnetism i had in science a couple months ago, implied a theory that every human leave's a genetic imprint of themself in the electromagnetic field surround everything...so i generally thought of ghosts...

it could be a different dimension, a different parallel universe, even very advanced time-travellers...

now space could have atoms if they were drifting from somewhere, other than that its a vacuum

Plus have we ever sent a probe to find atoms in space? I dont think it is a vacuum, just there is no gas, well or solid or liquid. oh it does have liquid in some places.

Well about the thing about space being a vacuum, I don't really think it is, just is the area with the lowest amount of traditional elements and their forms, like gases, solids, and liquids. And what about dark matter? Doesn't dark matter make up a whole crap load of space if you believe in it? I'm not sure how well it's been proven so I'm not sure if everyone believes there is dark matter. My memory of dark matter is vague because the only reference of it was in 8th grade when we were talking about Astronomy, there was a small reference to it, saying it was like 30% of the universe, and then something else was a huge chunk of it, like everything other than dark matter, and gases, solids, and liquids.

I would not be surprised if Parallel Universes existed, although for now it stays a theory. My argument for that though is that there are a number of things that have the word "Theory" stuck on the end of them that we seem to take as fact.

Dark Matter came about to explain the fact that from watching the effects of gravity scientists showed that what we can detect in the space around us just isn't enough to have the effect that we are seeing. Therefore, Dark Matter was theorized as other matter that we couldn't detect in order to make up for this missing mass. Dark Energy comes in somewhere too, but I don't remember much about it.

You want to talk about parralel universes. read timeline, by micheal chriton.

parralell universes always interest me and not much things on the discovery channels and that do but the idea of there being many different universes that could contain different things i just find interesting as wheter they are real or not i think that they might be i mean space is so big that really anything is possible i guess

For instance, if you take a peice of cardboard, cut out two holes, and shine a light though it... Oh never mind, it gets to complicated to explain.

I don't see how you can suddenly say scientists are wrong just because you can't wrap your head around something. People might suddenly say that parallel universes aren't real, solely because they don't understand. It's true with all advanced science, but it never fails to astound me how pig-headed people can be.

it's still a theory though, anyone can blantantly say there's no proof so i don't believe it!

if they have a religion then they're just hipocritical

Notice we are talking about Multiverses, not Dimensions or Ghosts. Dimension are only conceivable by minds up to 3. 1 is a dot. 2 are/is line(s). 3 = solids. There are several theories of a self consuming figure. You can search for .gifs in Wikipedia or Google. Also, the Universe is the expanding of all that ever existed. So to imagine 2 or the suggested 10 (a way too convenient number) is like imagining Infinity^Infinity. These are just theories. We have no visual or scientific proof. Just far-fetched equations.

but the question aroused while talking about parallel universes so i thought i'd give my 2 cents, it is now continueing even though i had thought we finished it because of your correcting post

It's off topic. You can always make a new thread about Dimensions. Not all threads have to live for 50 pages eventually rambling about Angel Dust and how it brings you to a new dimension.

I thought they had moved up to 11 dimensions now.

(a way too convenient number)

Lol when everest was forst measured the guy got 29,000 feet exactly. He thought no one would believe him so he added to feet on. So all this stuff about hillary the first man to put two feet on the top of everest was Andrew Waugh.
