If Adam and Eve were the first to people on this earth and make the first kids wouldn't the kids have to have it with each other? Because it couldn't be that another Adam and Eve making more kids it wouldn't techicaly be possible without one day that the kids when they grew up that they would have to do it with each other.

Why do people always forget Lilith...

Btw. This is one part of the bible where I think it agrees pretty well with evolution. One day, this mutation happened. Some of the individuals with this mutation began mating with each other, rather than the individuals without it, eventually mutating more, and creating the new specie branches...

Adam and eve are two completely fictional characters if you want my honest opinion. People in any religion need an opium to ease struggles, hardships, and wonders that people can't explain. if it had not been for the catholic church or the pre-christian Norse religions after the fall of Rome, Europe would have went into complete anarchy for hundreds of years. ( unless a Buddhist or a communist came along )

But that's MY opinion.

Actually, Adam and Eve had more than just Cain and Abel. And it IS in the Bible.

I see this was already covered... Sorry guys! Back in those times, it was perfectly OK to marry siblings, it was done for generations.

There still is only a 5% change of mutation with siblings having a kid, and a 1% with half brother/sisters.

I think we evolved from apes, but the first life on Earth was bacteria, I don't know how the hell we evolved from that but oh well. And thoad, you sure have a dirty mind. The Earth was created by the big bang I think, no offence people.

rememver the first word of the thread is "if" no one sayng evolution is wrong or right (but it is right) just that the story of Adam and Eve is odd and in need of a good explanation.

I just don't understand how god could sit on his cloud and watch over his creation and watch it grow through incest. If we were created in his image I think the big G has issues.

I was under the impression Adam and Eve did it and created Cain and Abel, Cain killed Abel and was exiled to Canaan. Cain then had his wife pop out of some misbegotten hole and they had more children, the Canaanites. This might be completely wrong though.

incest didn't mater back in those days. Also it's pointless anyways as Noah's family was the only ones to survive and had to repeat the incest again.

*opens mouth, decides not to argue about this*
Incest leads to nice mutations if done for long enough. It could be a good idea, BUT: some seem to think that God=/=Science, so incest is totally okay before the ten commitments.

The main argument is that God created other humans for Cain to mate with, it is just not mentioned in the Bible.
