Recently on T.V. I saw news about Nadya Suleman, the mother of octuplets. Later, I saw an interview about the whole situation and she is unemployed and on welfare. She also has 6 other children. Even before she had the octuplets, she was unemployed and on welfare.
What are your thoughts on this?
For me, I think that she is downright irresponsible. She wasn't even out of college yet, but she continued to have children. Could she possibly have a mental problem? Why would you want to have a bunch of children when you know that you cannot support them? What kind of example would this set for the kids? Isn't it bit selfish? From a Catholic prospective (me being a catholic I decided that I might address this, If you are an Aethiest or do not believe in God, you don't have to respond to this part if you don't want to.) Nadya said that she thought that these children were a gift from God, yet she had conceived these children through in vitro fertilization and from my understanding she had a fertility issue. If she had a fertility issue in the first place, why would the children be a gift from God? So was she really meant to have these babies? Or was it just our human technology playing that made it possible?
but I dont think she should of not had them I dont believe in abortion.
It's not that, she could have chosen long ago not to "have" them. Because she had virto egg's implanted. And well, that was where she was certain that she wanted to have kids.
I think we at least agree on this, "She must be nuts!"
Because she didn't abort those octuplets, she must of wanted to have more children.

Those scientists that helped her with getting those eight children are also crazy.
Those eight children plus the other six are unlucky and unfortunate to be born into a broken family with a psychotic mother.
I've heard of families with many children but those families are doing fine, not financially broke and are in the care of good people.
These kinds of things, many children living in a household that cannot sustain them, happen many times around the world. The unique thing with this case is that the mother is crazy, there is no father, scientists helped with this crazed doing, this took place in the US, octuplets were born and fourteen children in total cannot be supported in that household.
The best thing would have been not to get eight children, better yet no children at all. She wanted them and she is now being criticized for her somewhat crazy ideals and for the lack of responsibility. This is worse than unwanted pregnancy, what kind of person wants octuplets while lacking money, having no father to be present and already having six children.
My friends family has 4 kids and they can bearly keep up. I couldn't imagine 14!
That's sad, real sad. Many families though can cope with four children but fourteen is bad unless you have steady and high income to support them. I read this book meant for first graders. It depicts the following -
There was a boy who lived with his parents. He was very happy and his parents could afford for everything they wanted and needed. Then the family had more children. They had more and more children. They slowly got poorer and poorer. By the time they had many children, the boy was very sad and lived as a squatter. His father was tired and mad and his mother was depressed.
The lesson - More children = Less money.
What a harsh way of saying that having more children is a burden. Well it is in many cases but that book is too harsh for first graders.

Yeah I know, she chose the wrong time to "have" kids, I mean does she watch the news? The world's econemy was down the drain, and she might have expected some donations?
Gosh she is such a retard, unemployed single mother of 14. And she CHOSE to have them all too! I think she has some sort of mental disorder, no normal person would do that. I just feel bad for the kids.
