It may not be the same with you, but you know how you have a good dream? Just one that was really nice and you want to remember it but can't? I normally have that, but when I have a bad dream, I can remember ALL of it. I, personally, am afraid of dolls, ever since I was little. I thought they wanted to kill me, and I didn't even see chucky at the time. I still have the creepy sense in the back of my head (I own no dolls, neither does my mom) but I have this re-occurring dream of a doll that would cry, do something to get my attention, then talk. It was terrifieing to me, and still is. The latest was only about 30 seconds. I wanted to check if my mom was awake in the dream, so I did, her door was closed, and she was sleeping. So I walked back and saw the doll. Strangely, I broke from the dream after I said "Oh my god!".

Have you ever had an instance where you also KNEW you were in a dream (not the main question)?

Also, (main question) is there an interpretation as to why my BAD dreams are always more vivid?

i have a question. the last four months i had no dreams, and the dreams before that were very unclear and random. does this mean i have a bad memory?

It most likely means you had a problem in your life then but now it is resolved. Dreams tell us what needs to change and what can happen if it isn't changed.

One time, I had a nightmare where a cute little girl asked me to play with her, but I said, "No, I have something I need to do." She then turned slightly inside out and grew bigger, she looked scarier whenever I said no, eventually, she got so scary that my dream exploded and I woke up sweating, crying, and soaked in something you don't want to wake up soaked in.

In your lifetime I think you will enjoy or maybe despise the 300000 dreams or so you will experience. A typical dream lasts I think less than half an hour. Also, nightmares usually occur near the time of dawn. The longest dream on record is 1 1/2 hours. If that was a nightmare well, i'll pity that poor dude. And if you hate nightmares... induce insommia on yourself!

I hate when you get a scary dream, I love it when your dreaming and you know its a dream.

Don't you hate it when you can feel yourself waking up when you in the middle of a dream? I do

did you find yourself waking up in the night.

Often in people who don't dream they find it difficult to get into REM sleep and wake up.

However it may just be that you don;t remember the dream when you wake up but you do dream.

The most vivid dreams occur in the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep. Most dreams in that stage are nightmares. I learned that today in class.

i hate when i have nightmares like this one time i had a dream that a thief was in my house and shot my dad, mom and little brother (not so sad about that last one). then he pointed the gun at me and shot me in the arm, i lived but he took me prisoner and tortured me day and night till he finally gave up and simply killed me. i woke up screaming S**T.

i think the reason that nightmares are so vivid is that the mind wants to cause you terror and scare you well at least thats what i think but don't listen to me im just a talking crocodile.

but some good dreams i can remember like once i was in school and there was a big earth quake and the walls collapsed we were doomed or were we. then i started shoveling out the rocks to see if we could get out i did it and in the end my hot crush nicole escudero kissed me.

so people can remember good dreams as well as bad is they try.

Some psychologists believe that dreams are training for real life (the only study I can remember to show this is as follows: The participant was made to play a skiing game on a simulator. Their score as well as other factors were recorded. They were allowed to sleep and when thery woke up their dreams were recorded. Then they were asked to do the simulator again. The results of the study showed that people who dreamt about performaing the task were more succesful at it the second time round.) Although some dreams are obviously just random thoughts many dreams especially nightmares have some grounding in the real world. It is thougt that our ancestors "cave men" dreamt about wolves attacking them in the way that a modern adult may dream about car crashes.

hmm I can never seem to remember either of them.I don't even think I have had any nightmares for weeks now from what I can tell.Although I can't even remember whether or I have dreamed at all in that time either. So either way I am not so sure I can relate too much, but I am sure there is a reason for it.Although real quick question and I know this may seem odd,but have you ever had a dream about something so very weird and random that last for maybe what feels like a couple of seconds or something, and then when you wake up you have no idea what it was about, but later on maybe months later the thing from the dream happens and you remember that you saw it in a dream.I swear this has happened to me at least 10 times before. My sister and Mom,as well as my friend also account for things like this happening to them as well. Its just dreams are such very odd things it seems.

I'm not very experienced in this nightmare thing, considering i've had a total of 1 nightmare, but I found that after I woke up from my nightmare, I didn't know that I was sleeping, I thought that I was awake. When I have a good dream, however, I'm usually the one controlling the dream and I know that dreaming. It isn't as vivid because my mind is not only dreaming, but also coming up with the plot for the dream...so I think that when you have a nightmare it's the subconscience controlling the dream/nightmare and not you, so the brain can make the dream/nightmare more vivid, and also because you do not know that you are dreaming it becomes more real and vivid.

...Does that make any sense?

Probably because...you pay attention...and take in your surroundings more in the bad dreams. But in the good dreams you focus only on the source of happiness, whatever that may be.

Make any sense?

yeah i guess that's the only reason i can come up with...you remember it more vividly because you're in fear and you want it to not be happening. then, you find out that it actually isn't happening after all.
