Why do people like them so much? The only thing thats decent about them is that they play fast. Besides that they have no musical quality. They stay in one key through "Through the Fires and Flames" and they cant keep a tempo live because there a recording band not live band.
So is it just me or dose everyone not appreciate real musical quality anymore?????
That also depends on what genre you like. If you hate classic rock and blues they're less likely to be your favorites. Ofcourse there are legends out there but that doesn't mean they're better. Noone's the best.
yah there is no best guitar player and yah it depends on what music you listen too but but saying that herman is better than guys like Jimi or Zappa is just absurd.

yes they cant play live. I "won" tickets too one of there concerts and i went cause my friend said the band was really good. The concert was horrible. The drummer for one was at about 75 clicks when the song is really at 100 clicks. The bass player wasnt playing the real bass lines he used in the recordings. and the guitar sped up so much that he ended his solo about a min. before the song was over was saposse to end.
I don't know what kind of music you like, but if you like Trash metal you'll like them too. And you seem to be quite ridiculous by saying it's not real music. Again, you didn't put arguments why it wouldn't be called real music
i like all music no matter what it is most of the time. and yah i was wrong when i said it wasnt music. It is music in a sense but your not real band if you cant preform your stuff decently good everytime.
A good band shouldn't need to use computer crap in the studios to make their songs sound good. Take the band Phish for example, they sound a helluva lot better live than in the studio. Why is this? because of the raw talent and the bands amazing ability to play 30 min improv jams and also have it sound good.
Why must dragonforce use so may computer enhancements to their music to make it sound better? Because it fills in that missing element that they just simply don't have when they are live
I think all people who don't see the quality of DragonForce, just aren't able to appriciate the whole concept: Speed Metal. Maybe it's just not your 'thing' but DragonForce s quality music.
personally, i didn't care too much for the sound of through the fire and the flames... sure, it was fast, but the tone of the song just didn't fly too much with me.... never really bothered to check into them much after that. It seems that bands that become famous almost solely on GH or rockband will continually be criticized by a wide variety of people who think their success was more of a gimmick of the game, then true skill on the part of the band. This sort of natural. it was the success of the game that sold them... not really their music. (just like how many people suddenly liked One by metallica.... I had liked it for years, and nobody else knew the song... after GH, everyone i talked to loved it.)
I haven't fully checked them out to criticize them furthur, but my initial impression isn't all that high.
Dragonforce loses quality live, that's something you can't deny, through the fire and flames is a crappy song as well as the rest of em (and I did listen through a whole CD of theirs). They have no stage presence whatsoever, Herman Li SUCKS. And btw, Slash SUCKS too.

jason becker is pretty cool i would never say that slash sux. hes a legend one of the most melodic players ever. since you apparently LOVE rock like its says on your profile its very strange that you say that SLash sux. slash isnt about showing of his music its all about being very stylistic, smooth, and beautiful. jason is about playing fast ,hard, and show offy.

Thanks for being one of the few on this thread with any knowledge of great guitarists (in terms of sheer ability). If that man could still play he would be the undeniable God of guitar, 10 years ago at 18 he was playing stuff no one else could, its a damn shame we can only dream. Good Luck to you Becker.
