the only way to fix this is to send it in.keep your harddrive!!!!some say that you can make it work for one day or so by wrapping a warm towel around it for like 3 hours,but it might not work.i wouldnt try it if i were you.

thanks, i looked it up and it's a software/hardware problem in the system. i think Ill take it back today, thanks again. is there anyone that has had red rings before?

if you get red rings on a xbox it may not be able to fix even if you bring it back to the manfuturer

I know a lot of people that have gotten the "Red Rings of Death", that's what they're called. It was a huge epedemic going around to a lot of 360's all around. They really suck, but Microsoft promised to refund all of the 360's effected so if you just returned it you'll get a new one back, but the worst part about it is that it takes at least a month or more to get your console back.

ive gotten the red ring Twice in 1 yr...when i sent it in they said it was something wrong with the power box so they gave me a new 360 and a new powerbox.....it only took 2-3 weeks to get it bck

buddy has has it twice he just took one back and sent one in. I haven t yet Hope I never see those evil red rings.

im on my 3rd xbox because of three rings of death!!

Red rings of death are caused by having stuff to close around the xbox 360 which makes it over heat then that causes red rings of death.

Did you have stuff around it? If so give it some space .
