Can anybody help me? I just got three "red rings" on my Xbox360, I got it at Circuit City, and have a warrantee, but I don't know if I'll have to wait weeks to get it back, also I don't want to loose my memory unit. Is there anyway to fix this? I've heard of ways but I haven't gotten to using them, please help!!!
The RRoD is just a way of showing easily what went wrong. Rather than giving you a whole bunch of confusing errors or just turning off, the RRoD tells you the situation. Regardless of whether it has a red ring, it's still susceptible to hardware failures, over-heating and just about everything else that kills the Xbox.
one time though it was on when my power went out and it wouldnt turn on for 2 weeks after that
Sounds like your power supply is very temperamental. O_o
I had red rings of death but it's just cable problem , huh
red rings lol i dont get them cause i have the xbox 360 slim and if you do get them and your waranty has run out then google mr jenkins and go to page 49 and the 3rd one down. this is a japanise company that fix you xbox 360 for just 5 pounds
Dude wait before you send it first unplug your power source from the xbox then unplug the plug in the power source then unplug the source from the wall it worked with me but the next day which was yesterday it broke and I have to send it to micro soft.
lol haha to the people getting red rings your fault if u played it for too long without turning it off.
People should get punished for doing something they enjoy? Nice logic, Einstein.

There is a certain red ring of death for your AC Cable being unplugged, if that slipped out there'd be absolutely no power going to any of the 360's components and it'd crash with a RRoD. When you firmly put the power cable back into the power supply there'd once again be electricity flowing through your 360 and it worked. If you've got all four quadrants of the ring light up it means your AC cable is unplugged and this will work.
The next day the entire cooling system probably failed so you had to send it off to Microsoft for it to be completely repaired/replaced. If two or three of the quadrants light up it means there's been a hardware failure and that often results in having to send it back to Microsoft or replacing the device. A restart doesn't hurt though.
They say to wrap a wet towel around the Xbox 360 but I wouldn't do that if I were you.
Just send it off to Microsoft or buy a new Xbox 360 , They have like a new model of Xbox 360 that can't get RROD. It's got something called Jasper in it that stops it.
Also you could buy the new Xbox 360 Slim which has better features as well as the less chance of getting RROD.
