Can anybody help me? I just got three "red rings" on my Xbox360, I got it at Circuit City, and have a warrantee, but I don't know if I'll have to wait weeks to get it back, also I don't want to loose my memory unit. Is there anyway to fix this? I've heard of ways but I haven't gotten to using them, please help!!!
mine did it a while ago about 8 months after buying it... urgh... but I just sent it in for repairs and they sent me a new one in like 2 weeks... and I live in Canada... our postage system fails hard so I am fairly certain they don't even try to fix it they probably plug it in see the rings and send you a new one and they gave me 3 months of free live so... ya...
Buy a new 360 , The new model of Xbox 360 can't get RROD.
No I am not talking about the Xbox 360 Slim ... I'm talking the ordinary Xbox 360 . They have a new thing called Jasper or something like that in them that stops RROD.
I just got an Elite model on Christmas, my first 360, so I'm likely to not get RRoD'd. If you get red ring-ed, I've heard unplugging the hard drive, or letting it sit for a while, or both can work for anti-RRoD. Otherwise, just send it up to Mr. Gates, but you probably should keep your hard drive.
i have heard of a method of unplugging your hard drive and wrapping it and your xbox in a towel and letting in sit for half an hour. Also, keep your xbox in a spot that isn't cramped and will let the hot air from inside the xbox can escape through the vents easily
I decided to actually look these rings up and found this- If one of the 4 sections is red then there is hardware malfunction and an error message will apear like E37. If 2 of the 4 sections are red then it has over heated, you need to turn it off for a while if this happens and if it continues to happen, there is most likely a problem with your console. If three of the sections turn red then there has been a hardware malfunction, usually more then one component is broken. this is very similar to the one red section malfunction except no error message will appear, this is also the most commmon problem. If all 4 of the sections on the power button turn red then the AV cable is not pluged in or has been unpluged, its not a big deal if this happens. If you get the 1 setion, 2 section, or 3 section then you probably have a dieing console. some of these problems can be temporarily fixed but if you want your console to run smoothly then you need to send it in. its free so dont worry. The 4 section is not a big deal. Hope that clears things up a bit
