I have a feeling that our current president, Barack Obama, is not going to survive one full term. Stepping up to office, he is now vulnerable to assassination, more than any other president so far. Since he's the first non-white president, there will be more racist criminals after him; I'll be amazed if he survives two full years in office. I think he won't last that long, but I've been known to be a rather pessimistic fellow. What do you think?
I've heard the most dangerous threat to the president is a small plane loaded with high explosives like Semtex or C-4 plastique being crashed into the White House. I think that is somewhat unlikely to happen and in any case the Secret Service would be able to get enough warning to either have the plane shot down or rush the President into one of the plethora of concrete and steel reinforced side rooms with Kevlar and fire-repellent lining.
I am pretty sure planes can not fly within a certain radius of the white house, and once a plane crosses that boundary, the SS is alerted and into the safe room he goes.

Is it not true that commercial airplanes are capable of crashing into the White House?
Yes, but, remember the whole radius thing?
And, planes can only come in on the rain way from one angle, and that is the angle that is farthest from the white house, thus, allowing the safety radius to be bigger.
Let's just hope Obama can dodge bullets as good as Bush can dodge shoes.
Thank you for bringing up another good point. Metal detectors can't detect every explosive material, and even if they find something that appears out of the ordinary, they won't always suspect explosive detonating shoes...
That wasn't the point I was trying to make. I was actually pointing out that anyone with a rocket launcher could easily shoot his plane down. I don't believe that every square foot that the president flies over is patrolled by secret service...
