This might be considered a lame andswer, but, since I'm an Atheist, I don't have any teachings to tell me what will happen when I die, so I think I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
In my view when we die we cease to grow or repair. Therefore our cells start to break down and we, regretfully, rot. Once we are just skeletons and then eventually dust we go down further to atoms. Since these are pretty hardy to say the least. Thery "live" many billions of years if not infinently so they get recycled (sort of). We have roughly (very roughly) 7 octillion atoms and about 200 billion of them have been in Shakespeares body and probably similar amount from any other ancient person you can think of. In a few hundred years time my atoms will have gone from me and could be in some one else or in a whale or a volcano.
hmm ive had many ideas, heres an odd one i think about A LOT!
when somone dies, do they go to heaven? hell? limbo? rot? what if people die more then they know, maybe everytime somone dies the time line splits off and they still think their alive, if this is so there could be millions of timelines and people could live forever in theory.
think about it, if somone grows so old to an extent were they cannot die, life would be cruel, who knows.
I belive in god and all that. But don't tell me no one has ever thought about it. You know, what if there is no god, it was all made by humans long ago, to worship something, to hold onto....or to even take advantage of one another.
And I find myself laying in bed, thinking, if we are a sleep, what happens when we are dead? I mean do we 'sleep' or do we even know what's going on? Can we feel it? Are we awake? We can't just die out, and not think........See, this is the stuff that confuses me.
Death..after dying I don't think you will just live in another world or something. Maybe there is a soul saparated from the body, but I think 'soul' is just a function of the brain. So I think my 'soul' dies at the same time my brain doesn't work anymore. After I die I won't go anywhere, it just stops. But, when you are in a state of something like a coma, you are (because you can think/dream) able to imagine or dream something like heaven. More than that, does not exist (is my opinion)
I would like to think something happens like you go to heaven or something. But in reality we will never be able to know what happens we may be reincarnated, we may go to heaven/hell, or nothing may happen. Maybe when we die we become servants of a giant flying spaghetti monster for 12 cosmological decades.
I believe that there is no actual heaven. You live in other people and how they remembered you. OTher people believe that you just rot and then nothing happens. THen there are the people that believe in heaven and in hell. Then there is second life after your human life you become a animal.
In this topic we can say almost EVERYTHING!Simply because no one (I think) really knows!I believe in heaven and hell but then... does it matter what I believe???
