If Newgrounds can start giving out awards why can't we. We can give out awards for best game, best user, most popular game, and most popular game genre. Hows that?
Well we do already go through nominations to nominate our games for other peoples' awards, but I think a strictly AG based award system would be cool too. Of course, Sonny 1 and 2 would just win everything.
Against rules to point out one over others. And it would probably just end up as "Best know" or a moderator anyway.

Uhm, why would that matter, and how to select it..
Besides: Not all games are licenced to AG, should those be in the nominations as well? And: We do not want to copy newgrounds or Kongrate or any other game site. I see no reason for this but some random fun and long mud throws because of different oppinions.
To Cenere, there is a difference between Best and Most Popular. Best would be the game with the highest rating, Most Popular would be the one with the most plays.

The higher the rating the higher the chance that more people will play it.... PS, Sonny would win all the time.
i like the idea for best user maybe like most respected user of the month and like the mods vote on it or something
It would probally end up having the same users being the most respected all the time. There are a few guys like Cenere or Graham who are very well famed here and they would be voted all the time. Ofcouse you could say that a user can only be voted once, but then once it will end up voting some idiot as respected since every good members would have already been chosen.
Sonny wouldn't win all the time, solely because most people don't like RPG's. The Last Stand 2, and Warfare 1917 both have twice as many plays as Sonny 2. Also, for most respected user of the month, I think it would change just because some people arent very active one month, and make a good impression the next.

Sonny 2 is alot newer than warfare 1917 and Last stand 2. And most people DO like RPG strategy's because they're long, they have ability to save and alot of choices THEY can make.

You do have a point there but that would not fix it since it will still lead to the same persons beign chosen. If Graham for an example would be inactive then there's Cenere, Thoad etc etc. It would actually mean who got mosts posts is most known and will get the reward. You can't give people the most respected user title for just 1 post since that's already called a merit.

If the mods should be the ones to decide, well, some mods talk to some users, while other mods talk to other users. There will be sympathy with those they know and talk to regularly, and they will probably be a little biased.

That wouldn't do any at all unless you'd make a council who have the chance to vote. Then again, there'll be fights to be in the council, and council memebrs would have to be voted to. A simple No-can-do.
First of all a rating doesn't say how good a game is you might like Dress Up games and they are down really low in ratings you might hate Sonny but everyone else likes it.So no there shouldn't be an AG awards.
The only way we would be able to pic best user would be to have us mods choose. This would cause quite a few problems. Every time someone is chosen to be a mod, theres a handful of users who feel like they should have become mods instead, or at least instead of the person chosen. I imagine we would have even more people complaining if we had a favorite user award.
As for the games and such, it's not hard to find the highest rated games or most popular. It would be nice to have more of a spotlight on a few games but then again the good games don't really need a spot light.
