Sherdil would you rather worship 100 billion gods for everything or one God for everything. Do you have a gods who you have top please so it will love you. My God loves me no matter what I do and will always forgive me for anything.

How do you know they are not one in the same? How do you know your god is the one true god? Maybe your god is false? Maybe your god doesnt exist?

Has your God ever done something incredible or extraodinary? I know my God exists cause he helps me through all my hard times. He is the only REAL God.

There isn't much difference. I've heard many Lutheran preachers say everyone will be catholic in the end. I personally don't believe that for one second!

I do not know if my god has ever done something incredible of extraodinary. I do not know if my god has helped me through hard times. I will never know. I can only think so. I can only wonder.

But why would you rather please a god that you think exists that has never done any miracles? When you pray to your God do you feel like a rush of comfort or releif? My God will help me through anything.

EXACTLY what I've been trying to explain on all these religious forums!! Logic is not nearly as good a comforter as that feeling of comfort and relief!

This topic has come up several times in the past... although I'm sure the old threads are long gone by now.
So I pose the question: can anyone define "religion" in a meaningful way?
This seems to be a necessary condition to even talk about religion in the first place...

Keep in mind this is my opinion.
Religion is your belief on what our true mission is on this earth in the first place. Religion should guide almost every decision you make.

I'm only doing this to demonstrate something, so please forgive me for &quoticking bones" like this. But if your definition of religion is correct, then I - as an atheist - also have a religion. My atheism does guide almost every decision and I have resulting beliefs about our "true mission." But this is a contradiction.
