On the news, in washington it is illegal to own a gun. I think they should be allowed I mean Murderers are going to be able to get them anyway they're always black markets for them but what about the citizens who can't pro tect them selves???
In my opinion, any state jail felony or higher offense would be grounds for denying a gun license. Under certain circumstances (IE, the person is ex-mafia or ex-street gang) the person would be allowed protection, but not to own a gun.
Speaking of gang warfare, 15 hours and 31 minutes, baby. But that's totally unrelated and let's stay on topic.
Owning a gun doesn't create problems. It all depends on who it is that owns the gun.
You are quite right Megamickel, owning a gun is no problem, but the owner is, well, I would say that owning a gun in your house for protection, which my grandfather have (a pistol and a shotgun) hidden in his room for protection in case of robbery, etc. But, a maniac owning a gun, well, we'll be all dead by now. If the maniac was with us, of course... Anyway, what only matter to me is where do all this criminals getting their weaponary, I mean, if there is a shop for that, security, is the spelling right, must be tight! And I know this is not really related, but we are speaking of owning a gun aren't we?
Well, if you do own a gun, use it wisely! If you do find one, pick it up! And sell it or something, you will never know if a maniac will be the one who will...pick it and shot you! Bang! Bang! Bang! Lol.
Perhaps we've (or rather, I've) been a bit wrongheaded in asking people what laws we should be making with regards to guns themselves. In general, it would be wiser to focus on the social issues highlighted by incidents that feature guns.
Such as the increasingly common school massacres. This should bring up the topic of, say, 'disturbed youth', or maybe even point to a greater systematic deficiency in formative education. One could then reasonably extend our conclusions here to responsibility and firearms.
I don't see any reason why owning a gun is bad. I own two twelve gauge shotguns and a target rifle. I have never shot at anything other than a target sheet or Clay Pigeons.
My thoughts on owning a firearm are:
-Must pass a firearm safety test. -Must be a background check on anyone who intends to buy a firearm.
Those would be my only requirements. Anyone who doesn't pass either one of those would have their weapons taken away from them. Anyone who sells a firearm to someone who does not pass those requirements should be subject to time in Jail (possibly death).
But in Washington i think that it being illegal is ok because that is were the president is so if you want to live there you have to be ready to succumb to there necessary security precautions.
I don't see the point in everyone having guns. Woo! lets all shoot each others' eyes out!
I hear people say "If you don't own guns your a Pansie"! "Real men shoot and own guns"!
I think that the contrary is the truth. Why do you all want guns? "So I can protect myself from burglars, etc." Why because you are afraid, like little girls!
I will personally never keep guns around the house. I do not see the point in keeping something that dangerous around my family, children, and neighborhood. If someone breaks into my house, I will kick their ass with a bat, but I do not want bullets flying around killing everything. If you were a real man, you would protect your family like a man, and use your brute strength to break some bones, not shooting from behind a couch, while your children are running around the living room screaming with arms flailing around.
