Well I ran virus checks for the whole time I was online during April's Fools Day to be safe.

Well, the owner of Downadup probably just sold the bot net to the highest bidder. You wouldn't have noticed a difference.

ok napoliano, there was already a worm of the same type about a year ago I think, but it was to a smaller scale of what people know this one can do. Who are you to say it doesn't exist? I highly doubt Microsoft would be going to the trouble of setting up a reward for finding the maker of the malware, if this was all a fake. Just couse it didn't happen on the date that was publicised, doesn't mean it never will.

The worm is real. Hasn't affected me though. Even if it only affected 10-15 million computers, there is a good chance that it wouldn't of affected yours.
