Just a question. Why do people like alcohol so much? It's rather bitter, dizzying etc etc. So what do you think?

Morgan or Bacardi, but expensive... At least in bars.

Not that expensive, but the bars rip you off, and you don't get as much from their "Trick" highball/shot glasses

Kids, don't drink!

Of the top 10 funniest things I have ever seen at least 6 of them involve underage lightweights who couldn't handle their alcopops. Why would you deprive me of that joy?

Thank goodness for the Danish alcohol drinking age limit!

Oh yeah, the kids that think they are cool while sipping their low alcohol drinks and get drunk anyway~

Hey that me joke. Well I am a light weight but at least it is vodka and beer and not alcopop crap. Plus being a leight weight saves a lot of money.

That's cool. I just wasn't sure which brand you're reffering to. When I was last in the US I didn't drink much in the way of spirits. I did however find that the micro-breweries dotted around the States had exellent beers. Much better than the large brands in my opinion.

As for the lightweight stuff. I suppose it does have its advantages with regards to funds, although, that's something I'd expect a skint teenager to say I'm of the opinion the costs of being a lightweight far outweigh the benefits.

Wouldn't this be better in the World Events forum or whatever it's called?

I don't think that any drinking at all should be legal, it messes people up. Even if you drink in moderation you are still causing hard to your body, and you are encouraging others to drink as well. Those other people could be kids or teens, who would have a harder time controlling their drinking habits.

Since we are discussing different types of alcohol, and the types we like, probably not.

you are encouraging others to drink as well

Uhm, not really. Drinking at a party with your college mates does not encourage other to drink. That is why we have water and stuff like that. When I am sober at a party, the other people are not trying to make me drink.

Not all parties are like that though. I know of people who were pressured into drinking by their peers.

You go to the wrong parties. Drinking should be done because you want to, because the effects of the alcohol will be something you have to choose if you want to go through.

Alcohol seems to be the ultimate social lubricant, it lowers defenses, makes people more attractive and willing to do daring (and often stupid things). People drink to feel good, alcohol is a downer, and you can catch a very pleasant buzz very easily. Personally alcohol is an acquired taste, esp beer, wine, and straight up hard liquor, so natures warning signs are there, just like the pain that comes with the herpes you got from that hot chick who turned out to be a tranny. But I digress. Where was I, oh yeah, alcohol and why drink it, same reasons people do anything bad, dumb, dangerous, illegal, etc., and the reasons will vary based on person and situation.
