I agree, Rock has MANY genres and has expanded many times over throught a few decades.

While rap still has about 3 genres and minimal instruments. The talent needed for rap is pretty low. The bass riffs are simple along with the repetative drum beats.

In rock your 'singer' actually needed to take lessons and work somewhat hard to perfect their voice. While rap you can just practice in your car while driving to work...anyone can rap.

Have to go with rock... some rap is good, but a lot of it is bad. And rock is so diverse and such a huge genre.

Rock, especaily Hard rock and Metal owns,
rap used to be good but now its turned into comercialized crap, none of the modern rappers are anygood in my opinion, but the odlies such as doc Dre were good, i enjoy there music even though its rap and im an anti-rap person,
but i think we can all agree on 1 thing, techno sucks the most :P

I say rock involves a lot more talent and i listen to it more than rap, but I think that rap is still good in its own way.

my friend said it takes a lot to make a rap song with a beat people will remember long after it's prime.

i like rock though, and i think learning to play the guitar for rock songs is a lot harder
