Now that Obama has won, I really hope he can fix the economy, and it's not an easy situation he's in. He's got to make decisions I don't think I could ever imagine making.
That said (just needed everyone to not hate me once I started arguing conservative), I think John McCain should have won. I certainly don't agree with him on everything, but I didn't agree with Barrack Obama on hardly anything. Tax-wise, I think that the more you tax the rich, the more they want to get out of the higher taxes, find ways through the system to pay the cuts that are given to the other 95%, and in the end, we're spending more but giving less. That won't last long. I also think FOCA is a bit too far-left for abortion, because some of its laws wouldn't even help women at all. I am pro-life, but that aside, I'm sure most people could agree with me that funding abortions with tax payer money (when we already have more important things to spend it on), untrained physicians being allowed to perform abortions (back-alley abortions all over again), and partial-birth abortion (or whatever medical term you prefer to apply to this type of abortion) are just a little too much. Also, nationalizing health care doesn't seem like a great idea to me, because nothing is free. Tax payers would be paying for that anyway, just with tax money. Therefore, people would try to take as much advantage from doctors visits and hospital visits as possible, and we'll have a messed up health care waiting list like in Canada (why do you think they come here to pay for medical help when they can get it free in their own country?). I'm also in support of the war in Iraq. It might not have been the best decision to go in and stay there for so long, but can we really make all those other years count for nothing? Even now Iraq doesn't have a stable government (I will give Obama credit for not pulling them out right away, though).
These are my opinions alone. If you don't agree, please tell me why, but don't start hating. I've tried to be as respectful as possible, despite how storng my convictions on some of these issues may be, and I respect all opinions presented in a positive way.

Obama did win and he should of won. He will be a great president because I know he will fix the economy. But if he doesn't hopefully we have another democrat who will.
"Its time for a change!! Change change!" Seriously. what are you going to change...? your going to change our debt...into more debt. Every person running for president has said change. This guys totally cluesless. making a fool out of our country, defieing the queen of england, and bowed to 3rd world countries...sure does sound like the leader of the power of the world.
In time when he screws up and everybody wishes we had a republic in power hes still gonna be saying change, and im still gonna be wanting my change!!! Wheres change? Wheres MY change? o wait my pocket duh
I was like HaSaSSin, but the opposite. I started out liking Obama, but I realized that McCain was the better one. Especially after I found out that the first thing Obama wanted to do once he got into office was to sign the FoC act. (Freedom of Choice act...or whatever its called). Oh, and Somers reminded me of something funny I once saw. We were driving and we came across a billboard with Obama on it saying "Vote for change!" And then we saw a billboard with an add for a casino saying "Vote for cash!" ROFLMAO!
So I was like "Man, Obama isn't making very good decisions. Maybe I shouldn't have voted for him" Then I was like "John McCain...Sarah Palin..." Finally I was like "Never mind."
I think that McCain should've won. I believe that Obama had a more charismatic appearance, so people who didn't know who to vote for just voted for him. Of course, I don't think McCain made a good decision choosing Palin as her running mate.
Watch out...She's watching you...from her backyard.

Just my opinion, but I think Palin got a little screwed. She wasn't a great debater or a beloved public figure, so if that's what you mean, I agree. But the only things I hear people going against her about are her family. Yet I heard Mitchell Obama say, when Obama was nominated, "For the first time in my life I am proud of my country," and nobody seemed to mind. I think having someone who has never been proud of the country as the first lady is worse than having the vice-president's child have down-syndrom or her daughter getting pregnant, or whatever else happened to her family.
It's people like the person who started this thread who I can't stand. It doesn't matter who should have won, Barack Obama did, like it or not. No need to rekindle the tension that we saw during the election.
McCain: old, bad pilot, was tortured Obama: did drugs, socialist, listened to 20 years of america hate-speech, has terrorist organizations supporting him
